I am tired of waiting for new material... drukqs came out in
2001... since then autechre have done: draft 7.30 and gantz
fraf... and what has he done? nohing, and now he comes whith
an Ep with 3 tracks when one of them is a remix when he just
"gave" us 26 mixes... come on... 2 new tracks since
2001...is that all?

I was expecting an ep like girl boy ep, or like come to
daddy mini album... something that let me know he is still
alive

rambouillet (small town, west of paris)

(sorry for not reckoning france before on your avatar!)

ps: please take all your time on infos about afx/oslo...

;)

ps: full rinse by squarepusher, it's ragga techno as well?

i didn't know that having a black guy in a song made it
ragga

(thats my way of saying "full rinse isnt ragga")

I'm looking forwards to hearing it.

Is it known for sure that it is the Bug remix? (Seems odd,
with it also being on another release.)

However I quite like the way he's releasing stuff now. The
informality of it is nice I reckon. The way two remixes
seemed to just pop up. I like the minimal approach to
packaging that took too, so it was just the music (however
that does get a bit questionable in an age when we can
download packageless music on mp3.) But I still liked it
anyway.

If it is what people say it is (the Bug remix then two noise
tracks), I reckon it could be pretty good. A nice thing to
have. He seems to be making up his own rules -

I think the thing is to just follow artists you like. I
don't like it when I see "Ambient Works Volume III" posts,
because you've got Ambient works I & II, surely that's
enough. I'd probably go off his work if he went backwards
like that. So yeah, makes up his own rules.

Like everybody should I think.

i would consider full rinse quite ragga-jungle. the amen,
the dubby bassline, the chatting.. very ragga imo.

i don't know much about ragga (only french ragga) but to my
ears, the guy on da squarepusher trx is a ragga "singer"

i'm not really sure, of course

(ragga & jungle share common roots)

on smojphace ep: don't judge it before hearing it!

i wouldnt call 26 mixes new tracks

i'd call it 'milking it'

that's clearly not what i'm saying -
a remix is a new track.
26 remixes are old remixes in a 2 cd compilation format .
i'm really pleased that came out because most of the tracks
are
1) great
2) Impossible to find
3) when you find them they are incredibly expensive .

fair point

i dunno if there great tho, but hey each to there own, i'm
not dissin it, i just prefer 'proper' afx tracks

two remixes by afx is really good tho,

I wish there was more Aphex stuff too. He definitely played
some Ragga stuff at ATP and I have a feeling that he played
unreleased stuff. Whenever he played something that had a
certain Aphexness to it he would look up to the crowd as if
to gauge a response maybe?

gantz graf was completed before confield, but was delayed
for ages by the video (which is understandable)

Yeah i agree , more fancy artwork and stuff would seem to be
the right way to go.
