GBA SP you're mine!

1- Castlevania- Circle of the Moon

I actually liked this more than Symphony of the Night... I
haven't beaten it though! Got to the last boss, tried him 3
or 4 times and couldn't put a dent in his hide, so I QUIT. I
just quit, and 6 months later my save is still there.

2- Metroid Fusion- really good stuff, and a couple of the
bosses have absolutely insane music (the ''skeleton water
snake''). Love to get an MP3 of that. It's not quite Super
Metroid though... that had a deep ominous soundtrack that
you can't duplicate on tinny GBA speakers or that inferior
sound chip.

Are there any GBA soundtracks ripped, IE- .SPCs or .GYMs?
Anyone?

They come out in japan though and the one I linkled to
(second one) will work with usa machines.

Send me your flashcart and a return postage paid envelope
and I'll put some goodies on it.

GBA carts are universal- no adaptor required.

3 of the best games (IMO):
Advance Wars
Wario 4
F Zero (not a snes port- more sequel...)

I know what you mean about the metroid sound- still
haunting, but not that lovely pulsing 16 bit bass there was
on the snes. how good would the super metroid soundtrack be
on a system with a sub? :D

Ahh yes, of course! I think I'll wait for the domestic
release though. And I'll make sure to get in contact with
you once I receive my flashcart.. You have redeemed yourself
Ceri JC.

I didn't know they had F Zero for GBA. I'll have to pick
that up the same time I get Mario Kart. Do you think
Advance Wars is worth buying now? Or should I just wait for
the sequel?

1.Advance Wars -- 9.1 Gamespot, $20 at EB
2.F-Zero: Maximum Velocity -- 8.1 Gamespot, $30 at EB
3.Mario Kart -- 8.2 Gamespot, $30 at EB

I'm getting Advance Wars first because it only costs $20 and
that's all I'm going to have after I return this undercooked
shitty fucking piece of Japanese RPG shit. The rising sun
can rise up my ass tomorrow morning.
...
Does anyone have an opinion on the other two?
Place your bets: Mario Kart vs. F-Zero

Hmm.. The EB clerk said F-Zero > Mario Kart. He gave me a
piece of gum too. Looks like the two of you will have to
fight for my love. I finally bought Advance Wars, haven't
played it yet though. I hope it's reeeeally cool and I hope
I have enough time to beat it before the the sequel comes
out next month.

Does the EB clerk listen to the Legendary Pink Dots? Is he a
moderator on an Aphex Twin messageboard? Um, no!

Question, GBAers... is Mario Advance 3 a port of Yoshi's
Island from SNES? Mega underrated game, that... these ports
are great, though I could live without the voices they added
in there. I really want a Castlevania 4 port, though one of
my favorite things about it is the soundtrack and that would
suffer horribly. Contra 3 is out so maybe Konami has
something else brewing.

BTW, for anyone with a PS2, Contra: Shattered Soldier is
incredible, a wonderful return to form for a forgotten and
nearly-ruined series.

The new Rygar for PS2 is good too, though I got lost in a
temple (a BEAUTIFUL one, granted) and couldn't figure out
what to do. Typical Rygar! Larf mar arse arf! Huge sprawling
game though, had potential if I wasn't so braindead.

I love remakes and re-releases. How 'bout some Bionic
Commando for GBA, Shiggy Mo?

Have you played through both quests of Windwaker? Have you
succumbed to male pattern baldness?

Mario Advance 3 IS a port of Yoshi's Island. I don't really
like it myself.. Too over-the-top with the kiddy theme.
Makes me want to draw flowers on the wall and wipe my ass
with pink toilet paper.

The original Rygar for NES was awesome. The advertisements
for it at half-time on Tecmo Super Bowl made me orgasm! It
was like watching Mick-Jagger rip the skirt off of Tina
Turner.

Pfft, lame... Yoshi's Island is an underrated masterpiece.
Just go run off with Mr. EB then, fuck if I care.

Rygar was a special game... embryonic Super Metroid/Symphony
of the Night gameplay. I could never beat it though, there
was a two headed red-and-yellow dragon that always beat my
ass. I've been contemplating making a run at him with an
emulator equipped with Game Genie, see what the fucker does
then.

good old arcade days...

i would like a gba sp so bad for gaming, but i know that
LSDj doesn't work right on it because of the way
the wave channel emulation is implemented. :~[

the gb dev scene is active as ever tho ... maybe someone
will write a BigSDj ;D

there is a tracker under development for the GAMEPARK32
... which i think is a more impressive system than the gba
... it will be interesting to see if the system takes off
with anyone besides the uber-dork emulatoring and
development crowed.

Opposite for me, I grew up with the NES version and never
played the arcade! I have a Mame rom of it, I should give it
a go. Infinite quarters.

The NES version is more of an adventure than an action
game... the game is one big level, you collect items, gain
levels, etc... and you have to do it ALL IN ONE SITTING...
no saving of passwords. Quite a challenge, made me shed a
lot of years when I was a wee lad.

k9d- SP doesn't have a headphone jack? Are you kidding?
Gahh!

You buy a $5 adapter -- no big deal. It makes sense once
you see the way the SP's set up.

The music when you visit the 'sage on a pillar' is
mind-altering. Even better than Donkey Kong Country's
underwater theme.
And I made it past the red-and-yellow dragon of which you
speak. I shut the game off for the final time after 5 hours
of aimlessly running around trying to figure out what I had
to do next. All I remember is that it had something to do
with a hot air balloon(?) above some mountains near the
beginning... Baffling.
I guess some things just weren't meant to be :
http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/nes/a/rygar.htm

"Pfft, lame... Yoshi's Island is an underrated masterpiece.
Just go run off with Mr. EB then, fuck if I care."

Lame? Look who's talking Mr.Retainer!
And I know you don't mean that 'fuck if I care' yabbish.
You'd be devastated if I left you. Devastated. Don't
forget who wears the pants in this relationship you stupid
good-for-nothing bitch.

Eh, he gets like that sometimes. Always comes crawling back
when he realizes what he's jeopardizing. (witness post
#00682574).

I've been seriously considering getting a GBA SP... I have
to get the bus to and from my college and that would pass
the 12 minutes I'm on there and impress the ladies. Also, I
could sit at that big reading area in the library or even
the cafeteria and play it, and the girls would flock from
the jocks over to me. Emulators aren't getting me laid
lately.

I think it would be a good investment for your feral little
loins. To start off with, if it's women you're after,
definately pick up the platinum version along with a copy of
the widely acclaimed Advance Wars. Cobalt is a big no-no on
the playing field - trust a man that knows. Next, you're
probably going to want to fill out the Nintendo Power
subscription card as it's the only place you can get a
complimentary pair of offical headphones - Playing your GBA
SP with any other would be a crime. Lastly, while waiting
for your Nintendo paraphernalia to ship, you should go out
and hunt down a decent adapter. If it costs anything more
than $5-6(not sure what that is in Inuit) you're getting a
bad deal... And that's it. Good hunting penis swab.

-- You should more seriously consider procuring a copy of
Wind Waker first though. You claim to be an introverted
loser with an abundance of taste yet you still lack the best
game ever made. Sooo not cool.

My purple GBA yearns for a purple GC to match it... however,
my 6 nearest Argos stores are all out. I would just
buy one elsewhere but it's at least £27 difference. Damned
annoying, especially as I have some GC games in the post

sorry if this has been mentioned before but i was just
wondering, how would this

NOT own gba sp? i'm puzzled. the old gba looks better, feels
better, has everything on it that should be on it and was
meant to be gamecube compatible.

agreed, the lack of light sucked, but this solution looks a
lot better to me than that awful SP 'upgrade'.

what do you think?

It's amazing isn't it?SOme idiots overlook it because of the
fact it's turnbased, but its absolutel brillant. Wait till

I picked up a Silver GC & Zelda today. Just been playing

that they're bad, but there was something "off" about them.
Wind waker changed my opinion on that matter in a flash.

Well I really need a turn based game with forest playing

shields and Yogurts... gun are ick. Are there any good ones
out there in the vein of Shining Force and Vandal Hearts?
Turn based games are wicked hot and I haven't really played
one since Final Fantasy Tactics (*****), Ogre Battle (***)
and Vandal Hearts (****).

Argheth. You don't understand. You and Ceri JC will have
to talk modo e modo -- maybe he can stuff some sense into
that empy skull of yours. The only other wicked hot game
I'd recommend you in THAT vein would be Tactics Ogre for the
GBA. Not sure if you'd be willing to invest the time into
playing that though. Lots of heavy planning and stat
balancing - not for the faint of heart or those with lives.
If you're looking for a more traditional RPG I suggest
'Skies of Arcadia: Legend' for the Gamecube. It's got a lot
of personality and a great story line +plus you get to pilot
your very-own customizable pirate ship hundreds of feet
above the clouds! Top that and I'll let you have your way
with me.. Anything goes.

Yeah, Tactics Ogre for PS1 is the game I played, Ogre Battle
is something different. Didn't like it much, it was like
Final Fantasy Tactics only more complex, and uglier.
