i dont know the artist that e-man has remixed

but straight away its dubbed up and bassy with swung out
beats

now its kicked in with a nicely thin drum and bass beat,
cuts back to simple percussive sample elements..

ahh the drum and bass has picked up again :) this is lovely

check teapots ftp if youre feeling cheeky ;)

onto ceri jcs bowie mix

well its unrecognisable. good all whole new mood of its own.
sweeing low pad elements and incidental harmonies.. he seems
to have twisted what im assuming is bowies voice into monk
like drones..

now its picked up and has gotten even more dreamlike..
digging this

offline rockenjohnny from champagne socialism (Australia) on 2003-04-15 11:13 [#00651687]
Points: 7983 Status: Lurker

ochres timberlake mix:

wow very professional. vocals are chopped up and rudely
harmonised, i love how ochre is making it sing his own
song..

and the beats kick in.. this is fantastic!!

offline rockenjohnny from champagne socialism (Australia) on 2003-04-15 11:17 [#00651697]
Points: 7983 Status: Lurker

onto tibbars journey

crawls up from low volume with moody harmonic samples.. very
soundtrack.. ive heard this before so i can tell you that
when the hip hop reminiscent beats kick in after a calm
patch youre gonna be laffin

yes there it goes :) tibs doing something a bit different
with the percussions to what weve grown accustomed to, and
then stark harmonic samples make it all skinny puppy

offline rockenjohnny from champagne socialism (Australia) on 2003-04-15 11:20 [#00651705]
Points: 7983 Status: Lurker

teapots chapi chapo

rude bass line straight away. then equally rude blips of
percussion.

and in with spanking snares.. rockin on!

now purely electro synths come into the track, the harmony
seems all over the place at first, but then makes sense..
and puts a big grin on my face :D real cute :)

:]

mogwai by nigel

keeping it simple with neat samples from the song (another
one i dont know but you can tell) arranged in hip hop style

sampled guitar loops pick up giving the impression of warm
pads. the most relaxing piece so far in my book :)

my bloody valentine mix by wMw

real off the wall spanging samples. i have no idea what the
original song is, but this has a definite and abrasive
groove to it. high end harmonies and all sorts of messing
around all come together. gives me a big team doyobi
impression in many places

offline rockenjohnny from champagne socialism (Australia) on 2003-04-15 13:10 [#00651967]
Points: 7983 Status: Lurker

unruhe's pixies mix

a growling low end creeps in from the beginning. no trace of
the original song.. just how i like it :) very moody and
unnerving.. (and thats a not bad thing)

now the sounds get filtered into the higher range, the
percussion comes together, and varies quite naturally.
voices creep up singing 'caribou' as if out of a thriller
flick..

my little sister suprises me here with his remix, i was
unsure what to expect after his last xltradio feature

this is completely different. a fat bass line and well
structured percussion have it playing like a real band,
harmonies come in from all over the place. the song
structure is traditional and carries very well. you can tell
a lot has gone into this!

the latter half then relaxes back from an electro rock sound
into something quite cocktail party.. :]

and it keeps going!
