prayer is for non-corrupted catholic schoolgirls! hehe! once they become corrupted, all prayer goes out the window! but seriously, my view of the universe in which we exist (as defined by physical laws, time, space, etc.) is a principally determininistic one - 'from one source all things depend', as BOC has aptly put it, regardless of whether or not you arrive at this from a religious, spiritual or scientific perspective. as far as i am concerned, the evolution of the universe has been defined (or mapped out, if you will) by whatever force (or forces) which initially comprised for its development. the greeks called it fatalism, some call it fate, others determinism, but whichever way you choose to look at it, it's all pre-defined (even in terms of living creatures, nature definig nurture and vice versa).

as for what lies beneath the realm of physical existence, that lies ahead for all of us to eventually find out (or not).

I definitely DO believe in the existence of God. An all pervasive spirit, indistinguishable from anything else that might exist in this universe, time included, for everything is a part of it and it is a part of everything. It has no name, it has no form and it has no judgemental rules. Inspite of its intangibility, its presence is always felt, in beauty and love and arts. It is the essence of humanity and vegetations and all that is. It does not crave worship or believers. It is oblivious of anyone believing in it. It does not do anything FOR anything/anyone. The way anybody can pay respect to it is by loving their fellow humans, animals, plants and rocks and streams for it exists in all of these and all of these alone. And the only prayer in its name is the pusuit of art, maths and science, for they alone rely on universal truths rather than man-made social systems.
The universe has greater purpose than anything IN it can fathom.

I do not know if that corresponds to any particular religion. It proably has very rudimentary tenets of Hinduism and Buddhism and Paganism at its core, but the faith is all mine.

i used to be a catholic - but now i dont believe in god or heaven or hell
one thing about that though, is that i still believe in a lot of the morals and ethics that a lot of catholics/christians follow - there are a few things i think are dumb (pre-marital sex) but there are a lot fo stuff i think are very righteous thigns to do

Christian, Roman Catholic... I go to church every Sunday. I thank God when something good happens, I curse him when when something bad happens, and I need his help when I'm in shit.

all religions are the same in that way.
