canal street. you're too funny. how'd you know about '*anal
*treet'?

i didn't take her there actually. i took her to a wonderful
restaurant in a place called saddleworth. saddleworth's the
kind of place where men are men and sheep are scared. . .

Saddleworth? Isn't that in Yorkshire?

Bit of a way to go isn't it?

What's wrong with Rushome?

i hate to bump this thread but.. i'd really appreciate an
invite if someone feels they can spare one. i was on oink
and uploaded some lossless rips of some out of print stuff
so know all about proper ripping and the rules of it all etc
etc.

my post count seems low but apparently i've been posting
here for over 5 years, i don't do chit chat it seems :)
my email address is in my profile if some amazing
person feels like sending one.

I search FOREVER for torrents, and when i finally find the
one i'm looking for, it's only available at what.cd. I'm
certainly in need of an invite if anyone is gracious enough
to grant me one. I can provide good music myself...

merrr, i hate to be contributing to this finally, but i've
got a few invites which will go stale, and the few of you
cool people who i've invited totally did some good for my
invite tree.

only people who have actually been members and don't
suddenly think upping an avatar and posting twice makes them
a regular need apply.

I got banned from What.cd
Three months ago someone got banned just for speaking his
mind in the forum, so I did a subversive thing and just
re-invited the guy (i know him personally) and they prolly
found out when this guy went at it again. I don't know what
happened exactly though. At first I got warned for
re-inviting someone that got banned (that's when they didn't
know yet I'd done it knowingly), and calling the
staff 'douchefags', maybe that guy did that and the staffer
that handed me the warning got confused.

What.cd sucks
Most of the what.cd staff are immature, they think they can
control everthing with countless rules.
I guess the admin is okay but he's the one that gathered
fools for moderators.
The site looks bad. (What's up with these read/unread texts
in the forum overview instead of visual cues?)
They fix things that don't need fixing, like this gazelle
lay-out, which is forced upon you, when you'd maybe just
want a less 'intelligent' search result.

Waffles is much better, the staff seems really wise, it's
way better than oink even, where people also got banned for
unjust reasons. I just hope they can 'fix' the economy like
they're doing at What.cd

I'm happy I'm banned, because of the upload I had I couldn't
get myself to delete my account.

Hedphukks i could sure use a spare invite, 1up sent me one a
while back but the activation code thingy fucked up - think
i sat on it for too long and it went 'stale'. Oh and
^biggie^ invited me even longer ago but then forgot what my
password was and my email wasn't recognised when trying to
recover said password. so basically a whole lot of gheyness
so far when it comes to what...sorry for the life story

seriously, i love what. havent had any run ins with the ops,
and theres a great selection of music with seeding that's
almost up to par with what oink once was.

gazelle is a great new layout, and is much more than
cosmetic - torrents are listed by artist, then you click the
album and you immediately have every format that album is in
at your finger tips, as well as a common description for all
of them. also the tagging system is nice to discover new
music (altho i have to admit i more often use the
greasemonkey plug-in oinkplus for that personally).

thirdly, if you don't like the look of gazelle, you can
always change it to one of the other stylesheets they have
or check out the unofficial stylesheet thread where there
are tons of great looking layouts (i use this one:
http://mersthamcc.co.uk/misc/what/what.css. you just enter
that when you edit your profile at the top where there is a
field for external css)

have you given oinkplus a shot yet? it's sublime - gives you
similar artists, artist description, last.fm and myspace
player.... all integrated nicely into your favorite tracker
(works with what, waffles, tpb.... cant name how many)

oinkplus

you have to follow the directions - install greasemonkey
first, restart firefox, then install oinkplus, and check the
bottom of the details page for a release on what. you should
see a little oinkplus tab, prolly open, with a whole gamut
of information.

the invites only go stale after 3 days instead of the

If you have less than 500 points, you have to solve a Sudoku
puzzle. Difficulty level? Extreme.
