You're quite a tough critic, Taff... I don't think he's as bad as you say, I just think the fame has gone to his head, and he's just being a right prick because of it. I don't know, my cousin was friends with him pre Kate Moss, and the stuff he says makes him out to be a charismatic intelligent guy, if a little unpredictable. I don't know. Yeah he's been a total wanker for a while. But you never know what someone's really like (especially when the only exposure he ever gets is in red top tabloids...) The point is he should be in jail, he's broken parole several times and is clearly a mess. at least in jail he wont be squirting his hepatitus ridden blood at people. Hmm, yea, I do agree to an extent. Though I should say he's not a public school boy, even if he is middle class... But I think you overestimate his fan base really. Especially now, I think most fans realise his twatishness is ridiculous. Everyone's still waiting for him to write songs like he did in the Libertines, his cat and mouse court case antics are fucking boring... when even the NME are calling him a washed up addict it says something. I'm sure there's been loads of characters like him in the past, Sid Vicious, etc etc... they are larger than life characters, theatrical really, twat or no. I'm sure most 'fans' just enjoy the spectacle rather than admire him as a person, though I don't know really. I'm sure his influence on society isn't as grave as you think. |
