Just watched it, the low quality video doesnt do it much
justice. But Dayvan Cowboy is a fairly boring song and the
video doesn't change that... there is an amazing shot of the
surfer inside the tunnel of a wave as seen from underwater.

I think Dayvan Cowboy the song has quite a build up, and the
ending is quite something, not BoC's best, but nice.

The video? I dunno, dissapointing? I guess so, some really
gorgeous shots there though, really really beautiful at
points.

the start footage was in the bbc planets series and its
basically the 1st man in space technically, this crackers
american that ballooned to some ridiculous attitude in a
pressure suit and then just jumped. In his recollections he
said that he didn't feel as if he was falling because there
was no air resistance so he basically felt like he was
standing in midair when he was traveling at hundreds of
miles per hour back to earth.

to be honest, i loved it! it really adds to the track.

and that skyliner track is already better than anything else
on TCH. my faith in boc is restored.

it was heading somewhere when he fell in the water, but I
doubt he ditched his oxygen gear, pulled a surfboard out of
his ass and thought "now that I fell from space, its time to
rock on and surf DUDE!"

I was hoping for something a little less OTT and a bit more
abstract and beautiful. When I hear that track (and I enjoy
it immensely) the first thing I think of is not a guy
surfing. It's just a bit garish and obvious for me.

i didn't like the video or the song, really, but for about
10 seconds, i had my eyes closed and was imagining a much
better video set to the music and it was really awesome.

this grandiose nature shit is really off-putting with this
music. i don't think it works at all.

I like the footage and I quite like the song, parts of it
work together, more towards the end, but overall it looks
just like old (albeit interesting) footage with BOC on top.
Which is what it is.

i wanna do my own dayvan cowboy video. it will be made with
parts of marlboro ads. I have it all planned in my head,
it's gonna be a lot of fade in images going along with the
cowboyish guitar riff and the cheesy melody line. it's gonna
be awesome and it will prove how bad a song this is. too bad
i don't know shit about editing video, or have a good
computer to do it, or know where to get marlboro ads.

That's a good idea, and if I find any, maybe I'll make one.

But if I'm gonna mesh a boards of canada track with
something cancer related, it would be basefree from twoism.
Gives me sick visuals/thoughts of the tobacco industry with
maniacal smiles and a building full of people that soak
tobacco in toxic oil drums. Raking in mass amounts of cash
and someone in a hospital with an iron lung, whilst still
containing a perpetually tense smile.
