So my hosts sent me a thing saying they were recharging me for something. I asked them what it was and it turns out it was the stats for my site. I didn't know it was a yearly fee so thought fuck it as I have Mint stats anyway and I check that a lot more. So they said that was no problem. They only went and managed to delete the entire fucking site. I don't know if they'll have the whole site still but it might mean reuploading the whole fucking lot again. Well nearly as there was some stuff that I didn't keep on my local version. Mainly the contents of the uploads folder. All that good mp3 and avi action may be gone. If that's the case then I'll obviously be pissed off. If I do have to upload the whole damn lot again then there's no way I'll have all of BIYC uploaded by Friday. Fucks sake. |

Easier said than done for me. I can't e-mail them directly as it's support tickets. They've been OK before and they're really relaxed about how much space and bandwidth you use. It's just this one occasion and it's something quite big and they seem to be totally "don't give a fuck" about it. It's over 24 hours and I'm no nearer to having a site. I'm going to try and call tomorrow but they operate a ring back service..... Great. |

Thankfully I'd started an FTP backup on a computer here at work but it didn't complete because the net connection dropped. It did get the folders I wanted most though so that's OK. BIYC is all at home so that's safe but it's the wonderful uploads folder that is gone. I'm really quite sad about this as there was a wonderful wealth of stuff in there. Autechre live mp3s, Aphex live vid and mp3, naked ladies enjoying high pressure vein canes in their gut lockers, fantastic mixes from deepspace9mm and xceque. Let us mourn this loss. BIYC willl return ASAP. |
