What software are you using to subscribe to RSS-feeds?

I'm currently trying out a bunch of new applications... been
using Feedreader and Sharpreader for ages.

this.

It's OK.

I was using the one in Thunderbird for a while but it kept
duplicating items.

I'm still looking for the perfect reader though.

I dont use them. I dont know what they do persay and have
never felt compelled to look.

I thought i would throw that out there so you could compile
that to your statistics :)

I want a reader with pure podcast compatibility - just like
netnewswire for mac.

virginpusher: rss is a technique used to subscribe to
"feeds" from websites. for example, add
http://xltronic.com/rss/news.xml to your rss application and
you will get almost instant notifications whenever a
newsitem is posted on xltronic... well..... try it out...
:)

xltronic v2 will use various rss-feeds so i will have to
write down some instructions sooner or later....

would there be any use for this if youre just the average
joy who checks about 10 websites religiously, daily?

could be beneficial !

I wanted to get news feeds without having to actually go and
start some application, browse a bunch of feeds, pick out
ones that are interesting etc. I just wanted something that
would cycle through feeds and their items slowly one by one
and show abbreviated descriptions in a form docked to my
taskbar. Then I could click on one that looked interesting
and read the full article. I couldn't find an rss app to do
that so I'm writing my own. Nearly done.

Well I don't use firefox. I didn't really like it. Probably
because I'm too used to IE. And I don't see why I should
clutter up my programs with another browser when there's one
that's part of windows anyway and you can't get rid of it.

euphonicfilter: sounds like rss would be perfect for you (IF
the websites supports RSS)...

xceque: sounds cool indeed..... let us know when it's
finished. :)

heh, okie.

It's written in C# so you'd need the .NET framework -
probably v1.1 - and some folks get all annoyed at apps that
needs a VM to run in and "if it's not pure C it's not worth
having". But I don't care. I like C#. I use it for work so
I'm fairly used to it.

It's also not tested anywhere except my machine at home and
my machine at work and they're both set up about the same so
no guarantees it'll behave elsewhere :)

xceque: i am the same way too. I appreciate IE. I am too
used to it. :)
