This technology isn't exactly "revolutionary" there were console steering wheels for the megadrive like this almost 10 years ago.
I'll reserve final judgment till I've played on one, but I'm disappointed with Nintendo, it looks like I'll be getting a PS3 instead.

The video/commercial is totally unappealing and beyond dorky. They're doing uniteresting things I never even wanted to do. But that's OK, it's not the problem, I'm sure the end result won't be so zany... we'll be playing traditional games with this in familiar ways.
If the next Zelda remains formulaic and childishly easy or the next Mario is as generic and bland artistically as Sunshine, this interface won't matter. Game design is their problem, their art is suffering. So whatever. Just deliver the fucking games. I don't care about the interface. I think it'll work, they know what they're doing. It seems hard to fathom playing a sports or fighting game with that, but hopefully the people at Nintendo that are being paid the big bucks are more imaginative than the people criticizing the controller design.

it could work, but if it doesnt that sucks : ( also, even if it does works, a whole console with hundreds games?
we might just end up with all these mario party type games and CRAP
gamecube had mario sunshine (still havent played properly) but they also got like 7 mario partys, and mario tennis, and that donkey kong game with the drums (but no donkey kong) WTF?!!
but then again, twilight princess... : )

That's my problem with the system, this isn't your usual tacky 'novelty' game where you buy some odd peripheral, a la eye toy, DDR, etc. it's the basis of the whole system. I can't see many ports of fighting/driving games working well on it...

It's a playstation world I'm afraid fellas, thats the honest truth. Nintendo days are over.

We haven't seen the games yet, and you're declaring loss on Nintendo's behalf already! God, I thought you couldn't become an even bigger faggot than you already were in the first place.
Anyway, I'm not buying this console for multiconsole games, because I'll have the 360 for that. It looks like it'll take interactivity with games to a new level, and I love my Nintendo DS for just that. I'm still curious about what games they're developing for it, but I know that they showed off a Metroid Echoes adaption for the Revolution behind closed doors. GC games will be fully compatible with this, but you'll need a GC controller (there are 4 GC controller ports on the Revolution for this). Third party support seems pretty good already, and I'm really curious to find out what they'll think up for this bizarre controller.
Also, I'm surprised tridenti hasn't posted yet.

I like the actual look of it all apart from; why does the control have 2 a and b buttons?!
I think this is a gamble; it seems very eastern culture oriented - like those dance mat games (although girls over here love that) so Im not sure it'll be enough. Give me solid snake and prov evo on the ps3 please..

Also, it will play NES/SNES/N64 games that you can download by connecting your Revolution to the internet. Dunno if you have to pay. Dunno if they'll put up Gameboy games.

there is always room for being more of a faggot than you are already
may I draw your attention to the fact that I was in the 2005 Faggot Hunting team which competed in Wessex and came runners up. I collected a brilliant couple of faggots and don't consider them to be diminiture to my stature in anyway. Therefore you must not accept this as an apology of sorts but rather an exhibition of the type of character that has shone through much of our society and is a microcosm of the times. You Stoat!

I don't think that's such a good idea, the GC button layout isn't so great for SNES and N64 games, surely? They need to have something more akin to the N64 controller, but with two analogue sticks.

- Funzione Rumble (vibrazione) inclusa.

it's cool to see them doing new things, but yeah well... i just don't know, it looks like a step backward in usability to me. the whole reason (and i mean the ONLY reason) i don't go fighting dragons in the first place is that i'm a lazy bastard, now they're going to make me physically swing a controller around for hours on end to play a video game?
