in regards to the records players themselves:

-a high quality record player is more expensive than a high
quality cd player

-replacing needles and such costs more money

-you can't put one in your car

-you can't carry one in your pocket ala walkman

in regards to the records themselves:

-you have to take better care of them than cds, and are more
prone to damage from touch and heat

-the average record is not as quality in sound as the
average compact disc

-there is a lot more music available on cd than vinyl

-storage of cds is easier because of their size

AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THEM ALL

people just think their better and hype them, when let's
face it, they're not

why do people always get so fanatic about that cd / vinyl
issue? there are advantages and disadvantages about both
formats. everybody can buy what they want.

my first vinyl was nine inch nails' the fragile when i was

vinyl vs. cd used to be like the biggest debate on here,
please don't resurrect that one, vinyl won of course.
oh and "flac vs. mp3"

debates are all wrong on here, as people tend not to listen
to other views. then it becomes personal.

you could argue it was already going awry at:

"HI YOU'RE WRONG

BYE"

and HEY! then we'd have a new debate!

echo.

first i went out and bought cos i wanted it was plastikman -
sheet one when it was first released. before that i was a
tape fanatic.

i constantly get told that WE are spoiled with OUR special
shops :) i love select-a-disc & robs records. but if i lived
elsewhere i do question whether i would be less pro-vinyl
because of this.
