Vitalic - Ok Cowboy

This is the best album I've heard so far this year, it's
got everything from überfunky dancefloor tracks to slower
more relaxing tunes.

For those who haven't heard his stuff, some of the tunes are
like dancefloor-friendly analord-tunes, some are more
electroclash, lots four-on-the-floor vintage drummachines,
beautiful warm melodies and everything one could want.

Anyone have any opinions to share? Discussions are welcome.

ps. I couldn't find this release in the discography section
so I started a thread myself.

great one, poney part 1, poney part 2, and LA rock 01. are
my favs.

poney part 1 definately sounds like analord, or i think it's
the other way around actually. poney EP was out before
wasn't it?

every song of his sounds exactly the same..i like it quite a
bit but he should really try something a bit different for a
change. he released some of these songs on singles and eps
before..his sets consist of these same soongs as well, dunno
how he doesn't get bored of it :)

yeah well maybe he does get bored who knows. but as far as
i'm concerned this album is good and every song sounds very
different.

exactly what i think ! moreover the best songs on it have
already been released on his two EPs : Poney pt 1&2,
LaRock01, Fanfares (not this version)
this albums sounds like the first daft punk but less good
imo

I think tracks such as repair machines, newman and woo etc.
are just as good as the singles.

so? in the past, albums were just compilations of singles
already released.

i wouldn't be surprised if the poney ep influenced afx's
analord series. didn't aphex drop tracks from the ep in his
dj sets? the ep tracks are still the best parts of ok
cowboy.

in the further past there were no albums, so the best thing
is not listening to albums.

i have been digging this album a lot lately. yes. granted,
the single tracks are prolly the best on the album, but isnt
that why theyre the singles?

other noteworthy tracks other than the ones already
mentioned i think are no fun and repair machines, as well as
the remixes of repair machine and my friend dario on the
collector's edition disc.

pure e-tardy goodness :)
