bleep.com says:

Beautiful melodic electroey drill'n'bass with vocals. In
"odd" time signatures. Perhaps by someone well-known
already.

01 - You're A Nice Girl (3:41)
02 - Soda (4:25)
03 - Breakers Know (3:38)
04 - You're A Nice Girl Remix (4:23)

any ideas?

hah - fair enough Vlari.

doesn't sound like mike p to me.

more like Richard James.. or possible ANOTHER luke vibert
release. But there's something familiar about those drums..

The mysterious Last Step hails from who knows where and who
knows when. Just listen and buy....

it ain't Vibert I don't think - chords don't sound right,
nor the beats

a lot of reviews seem to imply that he's Canadian.

Trust no one.

the chords and beats do hint towards a certain mr. funk. I
wouldn't be surprised if it was...

and mr. funk is canadian as well as prolific.

It sounds very much like Snares, Im sure the snaresologists
will be able to give more technical proof, but the beat
programming sounds like him.

In fact it sounds like an out-take from HCCBU meets Analord
with the vocals from 'Dad'.

Autechre did their own Analord-a-like, Snares has done his
own Analord-a-like... who's next?

Didn't the warp site say that it might 'snare some fans' or
something like that? You know warp won't release definitive
yes or no about who it is if they are told not to.

hahaha

come ON. I don't even listen to snares and I know its
snares.

Listen to the singing on the first track... its Mr. Funk, no
doubt.

i wudnt be surprised if two of the tracks were made by
snares, and two by mike p.

it sounds that way.

the first track is without a doubt snares, and the third
sounds very Mike P

them

On the mu messageboard, Snares stated 'I know who Last Step
are'. Its clearly him + richard or mike.

i have to agree that the two first tunes sound definitively
like snares. the two last are worse.

but now that i Listened and judging only by the vocals on
the first track, it's definately venetian snares

offline OK on 2005-10-06 22:04 [#01743228]

but now having listened all four tracks I can safely
conclude that it's not only one artist. But it's got
snares, I can also conclude that thsi realease sucks balls.
