iPod Help

So I have just bought an iPod and discovered that I can not
convert "Copy Controlled" CDs. Do any of you know a way I
can convert these. I could probably download the tracks
illigally but morally I am against this and why should I? I
bought the CDs for fucks sake.

Help.....

I have an external drive that rips copy-controlled albums
nicely, but the internal is also useful sometimes. I'm on a
mac, so that might not help you very much.

On a pc i've heard that there is a key-combination that
overrides the copy-control. Don't know the combination
though, sorry

Hold down shift when you put the CD in. It should bypass it.
Well it used to anyway... If not then try EAC to copy the
CD.

That wouldn't work on an ipod though

I would recommend trying EAC, all of the copy protected CDs
Ive got have ripped no problem with that

when i got my ipod i had to rerip my whole collection to
itunes becuase shitty windows media player 'protected'
them.

i surfed the net for a way to unprotect but apparently there
is NO way.

Took me hours to rereip em all but its worth it.

I need to buy a snazzy new mp3 player soon. Anyone know of a
good 40 - 50 gig one that uses the same firewire cable as
the ipods do?

har har, the first time you rip with WMP it gives you the
option of having the protection on or off, so don't rush
into things..... its still a shit piece of software anyway,
but thats by and by.
