Ok, I have just finished sending out the majority of emails to the artists among you. You should receive yours soon. For the rest of you… The Disk is a project I have been working on for the past 6 months or so. It was an idea I first had when I joined Xltronic and realised that there were so many great artists here wanting to share their work. Basically The Disk will be a dvd (possibly 2) containing your music and some bonus features. You can submit any of your music you wish, no matter how new or how old, it would be nice if you included a wide sample so people can get to know you better as an artist. I recently got the 'OK' from Phobiazero that I could continue with this through Xltronic. At the moment I am just gathering names to see who is up for this, so for I have received about 50 emails saying YES PLEASE! Over 200 Xltronic artists have been contacted, you can find their names . If you are not on that list then you must have slipped through my net somehow, don't worry though, just send me an email with your Username, ID number and confirmation that you want to be a part of this. |

yes. are you expecting a deadline as to when to get the submissions in (1 month ? 3 months?), so the project can be done in 6 months to a year ?........just wondering. cant wait YO ! |

I will wait to gather a list of all people who want to be involved first. 1-2 WEEKS. The next stage will be for the artists to send me their music or put it online somewhere I can get to it (there is a chance I will have my server up and running soon so I can create folders for each of you to upload) I will email all the participants with a list of music I already have from them, then you can let me know what you want featured and what you don't. The limit of track size/number will have to wait until I know how many are confirmed. Since I have been listening to your music for a long time there is a good chance that I already have a lot of your music, if you have posted it here in the last year then I probably have it :) Production will hopefully start October/November time , so there is plenty of time. I hope to have this in circulation before Christmas anyway! If you cant make it this time round fear not! If this turns out to be a hit with the listening public then there will be many future versions of The Disk to come. |

A few of you have emailed and asked about including other art like short films, music videos etc. There WILL be a bonus section on The Disk which will feature this some of this type of art. Though 90% will be dedicated to mp3/ogg/wma etc music. |

If this cute project helps you feel like a more integral member of the LXtransic community, then I'll contribute.. but only for that reason because, Jazembo, I want you to be happy. That is all I want you know. But.. I doubt this will be something people will find useful given people's music tends to be conveniently online anyway. And I suspect the number of people without internet access is very small... also, a dvd? I thought that format was for movies or something. I don't think I'd have much use of listening to the final product myself. |

DVDs can also be used like large CDs. All this DVD will contain is mps or other music/video files which can be played on your pc. This will all be presented via menus and html pages to introduce the artist and allow easy access to their tracks. This method will be much more efficient and convenient for both artists/listeners to share/hear new music. Instead of the tracks being spread all over the web they will be located on one offline source. Glad to have you onboard! |

I know you are not as serious about your music making as some. Still it is a shame you feel no desire to share your music even for a bit of fun, I have 5 tracks in particular in mind, they are simply called 1,2,3,4 &5 on my pc, probably some unfinished work of yours but very well made never the less.
