(Taken from our intranet at work)

Theres a new worm that has today been detected on the ntl
network.

Its called w32-zafi.b and it attempts to open multiple
connections to various hungarian websites in order to
disrupt their ability to serve web pages.

The side effects of this are that customers machines may
start to behave sluggishly and their upload bandwidth may be
high, leading to poor upload speeds, browsing, gaming etc.

there seems to be a distinct increase in both "background
noise" and attacks today. is this usually the case when
there is a new worm around?
