On ebay???

My roommate got screwed out of 700 bones.

Me and a friend want to go hurt the dude, but my roommate
says to just let it go, cuz more trouble would come of
it...

yeah.... ive never been ripped off of ebay, and dont know
anyone who has been, there are ways to dispute it, and
giving them bad feedback works too, because i used ebay all
the fuckin time currently I have 15 things in the mail to me
from ebay.com and if someone im getting off of has a bad
record of stuff like ripping off and selling bad shit, then
I wont buy from them at all.

Here is what happened.

Scott bid on the Tupac collection for about 1 grand, and
kept being outbid so he stopped.

Later, he got an email saying that the deal didnt go
through, so he could purchase it if he wanted. So Scott
talked him down to $700, and thought he was getting a pretty
good deal!

Well, Scott sent his money through paypal, and never
received the collection.

Its obvious he got scammed from the very beginning, and the
guy kept on outbidding Scott in hopes Scott would keep
paying more for the non-existant collection.

So since the deal wasn't officially done through E-Bay,
there really isnt anything he can do i suppose...

But isnt it E-Bay's fault somehow since they let a damn
thief into their system? Scott would never have met the guy
if it wasn't for E-Bay, right???

Waht do you mean it wasn't done through ebay, if the bids
were placed on ebay then i am sure that there is some sort
of cover or protection for him. Has he contacted ebay about
it? He should ASAP

offline D-Steak from Kansas City, Mo. (United States) on 2004-03-03 14:55 [#01097845]
Points: 1376 Status: Regular

he bidded on ebay at first, but the seller later emailed
scott telling him that the winner of the bid ended up not
wanting it.

so scott and him talked through email to reach the 700
dollar agreement.

he contacted them and they said they could do nothing.

I'd pay the guy a visit if I were you, or at least get the
law involved becuase what he has done is a crime, no doubt
about it.

he lives in Ohio, and we live in Missouri, so its a bit of a

Even if your mate just want to let it go, you should try and
persuade him to do something, this guy will just think he
can get away with this shit and he will probablt end up
doing the same thing to many more people, someone has to
stop him. Where is Batman when you need him

lol, I'd take the glock if you were going to make a personal
visit, but I don't think you should shoot him. Just use it
for a bit of gentle persuasion maybe. First I would try the
cops though.

yeah, we were maybe thinking about going to the Springfield
Ohio police, and saying, hey we are going to this dude's
house, and some shit may go down, so we'd like you to assist
us.

But we dont know how that will go down, and if they decline
us, and we decide to take matter into our own hands (shoot
him in his balls), then they would know who did it.

Yeah, I've been burnt in a similar way by dealing with
someone I met on ebay "off ebay". However, it was only for
£5. Pretty stupid as I had the guys address & phone number
and the address at least was real. I'd dealt with him in the
past too.

Hire a private investigator to get his information, then
take him to small claims court. Simple.

$700 bones is no joke- the local police should at least be
willing to go talk to the dude- otherwise if your pay-pal
account is through a credit card you have 60 days to dispute
the charge.

or for $350 I'll go bend all his knuckels the wrong way.
I take pay pal.

bending someones fingers back is really easy though, you're
overcharging,

I'll do it for $100 us

(plus travel expenses)

Well, what I would do is pay some hobo 25 to deal with him.
They do stuff like that. Tell them that you want a finger
for evidence.

Everybody’s been burned before
Everybody knows the pain
Anyone in this place
Can tell you to your face
Why you shouldn’t try to love someone

Everybody knows it never works
Everybody knows and me
I know that door that shuts
Just before you get to the dream
You see...

I know all too well
How to turn, how to run
How to hide behind
A bitter wall of blue
But you die inside
If you choose to hide
So I guess instead, I’ll love you
