http://www.oscar.com/nominees/nomineelist.html

Sooo whadyathink?

Im hooping for Bill Murray of course.

Also a swedish movie called EVil (Ondskan swe) is nominated
for best foreign so its actualy a bit exciting this time!

Of the nominated movies i have only seen Lost in Translation
,Reaturn of the king , Finding Nemo , Evil , Pirates Of The
Caribbean.

I would like to see Mystic River and The Twilight Samurai.

Your link doesn't work, but i am interested to know who will
win best actor. I have a feeling it won't be Bill
Murray, sadly :(

I want you all to imagine footage of a smiling fleetmouse
running through a flowered meadow on a bright sunny day with
uplifting music playing, and then words zoom in over this
picture. The words say:

"FUCK THE OSCARS"

best short film EVAR

i want lost in translation to kick the shit out of lord of
the rings. LOTR is just a fantasy film. Lost in translation
offers a lot more depth. Saying that though, the LOTR
triology is epic. Maybe they should share between them. Bill
murray MUST win though coz his speech will be brilliant

ROTK will win best picture, although it shouldn't. Peter
Jackson will win best director, although he shouldn't.

As for acting, the best actor will probably go to Murray or
Penn, here's hoping it's Murray. I haven't seen any of the
best actress nominees but it would be a major upset if
anyone other than Charlize Theron won.

If Sofia Coppola doesn't win best original screenplay then
commence the looting.

From oscars.org:

"Officially named the Academy Award of Merit, the
statuette is better known by a nickname, Oscar, the origins
of which aren't clear. A popular story has been that an
Academy librarian and eventual executive director, Margaret
Herrick, thought it resembled her Uncle Oscar and said so;
and that the Academy staff began referring to it as
Oscar."

I lost all respect for the Oscars after they said Titanic
and Gladiator were good films. So I don't care who wins.

hahaha...dream day for oprah's messageboard member:

" Going to the Oscars!!!!!
Posted by: muddbunch
Posted on: 02/20/2004 at 6:07pm (3 of 981)

I would love to go to the Oscars!!!!! I would love to dress
up and mingle with the movie stars. It would be incredible
to spend the entire day preparing for the event of a
lifetime. I would go to a world class spa, Fredric Fekkai
for my hair, Harry Winston for the Jewels and Valentino for
the dress. I would arrive in a limo and float past the
paparazzi. I would dance the night away at the Vanity Fair
Party and drop in to some of the other shindigs as well. I
would love every second of it until I turned back into a
pumpkin/Soccer Mom again. It would be a dream come true!
Sigh"

I don't care much at all really. If Bill wins he is finally
recognised for one of his increasingly more mature and
nuanced performances of the last ten years but then he has
to deal with living up to it in the mainstream press,
whereas if he loses then he gets the sympathy vote from them
and everyone else can go back to having him as "their"
favourite. I dunno, I'd rate him above Depp's performance
but I haven't seen Penn's and I'd bet that was probably
better. I thought Murray was good in LiT but not worthy of
some of the fanatical reviews he received... but maybe I've
just seen too many of his films.

If Lord Of The Rings wins best picture AND Bill wins best
actor it'll be a real turning point for a notoriously
close-minded ceremony. How about Bill presenting it next
year? I'd actually watch the fucking thing then.

let's hope the Belleville song wins then anyway.

Demi Moore should have been nominated for an awsome
performance in gran gignol for the amazing Charlies Angels
2. Also her make up artist should have been nominated for
his on screen creation.
