>You people are so blind! God loves you and he is coming
back someday to take all of those who trusted in his love to
heaven with him!! You are all his children and he allows
things to happen for a reason! OH and by the way... 911
could have been a good thing! THIS IS ALL PART OF A BIGGER
PLAN THAT NONE OF US KNOW ABOUT! God is going to end the
world someday... His creation has turned on Him bad things
happen because of the evil in the world. Stop asking him to
stop the madness. Just trust and pray that you won't be so
foolish to deny His judgement! I love Jesus. He saved me.
You all might try just loving God. He loves you. I know I'm
signing this petition but God knows it's only to tell you
people the truth. God why must everyone be so blind? I trust
you though. (don't say I didn't warn you when REVELATION is
played out)

We have free-will and therefore WE have fucked up.

Disease, war, famine are all solvable problems. Most of us
just aren't willing to sacrifice our quality of life to give
a shit.

Why the fuck would anyone be under the impression that God
used a bunch of middle eastern individuals as his pawns to
destroy the twin towers on 9/11? They did it on their own
accord, most likely as a result of some ridiculous foreign
US policy (again to maintain our high standard of life)

i think we create our own suffering

I totally agree.
If we'd be living simple (natural and joyful) lives without
any cultural progression (= kinda like living like monkeys
or something) we'd only get hurt by other animals (and they
have free will, right?), other humans (but it wouldn't be so
common), or if we fall from a high distance or run into
something.

At present most people die either from hurting themselves
(e.g. living unhealthy lives), or being hurt by other people
(e.g. murdered) or being hurt by something that's cultural
(rather than natural, e.g. accidents like being hit by a
car, dying in a planecrash, etc).
In the end, humans or products of humans cause most
(99.9...%) of the pain in the world.
We're the ones who hurt ourselves. Stop it!
Take good care of yourself, and respect everything living.
(sorry if this has been said, I only got to tibbar's post
before I replied)

never fear, science will show us the way.

and when it has been conclusively proven that there is no
god, bad things will happen more predominantly as the beleif
of god provides law and order among people, and if there is
no god, then there's nothing to worry about just like when
the oracle is taken out of the matrix and smith takes over
the place.

it's just too easy to pass the buck on to higher powers you
cannot comprehend as a human mortal being that is flawed and
subject to emotional distortion to your perception.

Science is bullshit
Humans shouldn't depend on anything other than nature, just
like ALL OTHER ANIMALS.
Right now humans are living in a dreamworld thinking they're
different than all other creatures on earth, thinking we're
solving problems and creating a good world for humans. But
in fact; most (if not "all) of the problems we've solved
have been created by us originally.
Humans are not meant to live in societies like the one we
live in today (in fact, far from it).

People need to understand that life is not meant to be
painful, and understand that pain is created by humans and
the culture(s) we live in.

my less than humorous opinion:

one day, science and spirituality will emerge as one unified
discipline. people claim that there is "no god" but they
know about as much as those who claim that god created aids
to punish homosexuals.

at the risk of provoking more "new age idiot" criticism,
what we call reality is far more subtle and complex than
many people realize.

some people want to see science as a pure, objective ideal,
when nothing of the sort exists. science is directed by
belief as is religion, and is similarly subject to political
and ideological influence. yet i say embrace pure science
as much as i say realize your true identity.

systematic scientific inquiry is only a few hundred years
old. it is in its infancy. imagine traveling to 1850 and
trying to teach people about quantum physics, and that
physical objects are in fact mostly empty space. systematic
scientific inquiry will continue to transform our world
until it's virtually unrecognizable to our present eyes, and
not because of any "proof" that god does not exist.

we don't even know who god is, and we want to talk about
whether or not god exists!

Well I don't hate all cultural progression, but since we've
gotten so far we should do away with all the things that's a
part of our past and just brings pain into our (and all
other living things) lives.
I like cultural things such as art and everything that has
to do with art (e.g. things needed to create / preserv /
display art)...
But really, we should do away with everything that brings
pain into our lives, and makes us dependent/addicted.

I want 100% individual freedom. Adults should be free,
nobody should be told what to do / not to do, or force a
person to do something.
Many people waste more than 8 hours per day on work (that
they don't like; they do it just because they HAVE to).
I could never do that. Cause that would be like wasiting 1/3
of my life.
Life is too valuable. Oh yes it is. Death is such a taboo in
modern society - but if people don't realize and understand
the value of death, how can they enjoy and understand life,
the way it should be?

Everybody should fight for freedom, cause there are so many
in the world today that aren't free.

the proof that god does not exist will arrive when
scientists are able to actually determine and make public
knowledge what happens to a person's "life force" (avoiding
the jaded world soul) when the life of the body has ended.

the bible thumpers or the scientists in no way have an
answer, but the bible thumpers are they only ones that CLAIM
they do. scientists are actively working to figure it out,
instead of just saying "this is how it is, get used to it"
and i have much more respect for them because of it.

if science was based on belief, wouldn't saying you don't
believe in gravity release you from it's bounds and fling
you into space? of course maybe all the smart people
already figured this out and that explains the intelligence
of the current population.

yep, sure is. I know people who don't care much for
religious people but still believe 100% in science and
everything e.g. a doctor tells them.

If we instead of inventing doctors to solve problems would
avoid the things that create problems - DO YOU UNDERSTAND
WHAT A GOOD WORLD THAT WOULD BE?

I was quoting plaidzebra...

I know people who talk about science just like some
religious people talk about god. Even knobcheese wrote
"never fear, science will show us the way."

I don't hate all science, like I said, I like progression in
areas that will help us experience/create/preserv art.

I may not know about science, or religion. But I know what
we could be doing to save ourselves from further misery.

kochlear, it seems to me that your perspective is clouded by
animosity for those with whom you disagree.

those "bible thumpers" are each individuals, and they are
right about some things, and wrong about others, and neither
right nor wrong about still others. likewise the
"scientists," and the "scientific materialists," those who
adhere to a model of reality that, like the "bible
thumpers," they borrowed from other people.

look at the last two thousand years, and tell me that all of
the models of reality generated by the religious faithful
are static! some religious models evolve, as scientific
models evolve, and neither will "prove" the other right or
wrong. in the present, people adhere to scientific models
as if they were objective truth, the same as people adhere
to religious models.

you think that scientists will prove there is no god when
they prove what happens to the "life force" at death? but
you don't even have any idea what or who god is!
