i just heard mdmrmx on the basic flannel mix and it was a
lovely song. i'm considering getting it. started this toe
pick to hear some thoughts.

hit and miss.

i think brothomstates has skill, but unfortunately this
album wavers around too much for me. i love bothomstate
ixpen, kava, mdrmx, te noch rp, and viimo. but the others
are meh to mediocre for me. course i know people who flatout
hate brothomstates, and some who flatout love it.

id say its a mixed bag. worth checking out but im not sure i
could be much of help re inforcing that.

average...
For some certain mood it is really good. One night i've been
listening to this with my gf, and she loved every song, and
i thought, well for crying out loud! and when i'm studying
it's not all bad either. but the tracks do not stand on
itself i think, the cd itself is a nice combination of
ambient scapes, with nice melodies and very soft basses.
It's by no means perfect music, or brilliant, or whatever,
but it's just nice.

i always call this album in one breath with start breaking
my heart - manitoba (which is better, imo) and susumu yokota
- sukutu (< or god how to spell), which is also better.

i liked a few tracks (brothomostates ipxen, tracks 4 and 5)
but some of them are too repetative and ambient for the
likes of me...its original enough to deserve a listen, but
you wont be listening to it every week.

Very good album!!

This album sounds like a collaboration of Autechre and Plaid
IMO

i quite enjoy this album, actually. it's been the soundtrack
to many an evening of shootin' pool and drinkin' beer with
some friends in my grandmother's basement (with the red
carpet. oooooh).

which is a track that truely ROCKS.

nice album. I used to play Unreal Tournament with this on.

thing indeed.

one of my favorites, but to hear that first one, the Brothom
States EP. oh dear, how do you top this EP. just brillant
stuff and more organic sounding that Lassi's solo works.
this record is easily worth $75 to me even though i paid
$8.

everyone should own this record.

It's a great album, with some class tunes. Can't wait for
the next album...

Are you the Ochre that's on the Onepointone compilation?

If so respect due, that's the best track on there (1st
track) by a mile, if so do you have any other stuff out?

offline Chris Ochre on 2004-06-04 10:16 [#01222871]

:) Thanks soundguy! Glad you liked it, cheers. I have an EP
out, with an album to follow in the late summer on
Toytronic. Full details on my website. Thanks again.

qtio is far superior....tho the track on the merck 12"
(dosage?) is the bomb.

I'm not sure now. You can buy directly from Repeat (London)
using the PayPal button on my site though. £6 inc. P&P. :)

I don't have a debit/credit card so I tend to buy stuff from
shops, who is distributing it? I may be able to order it.

offline Chris Ochre on 2004-06-04 10:32 [#01222923]
Points: 570 Status: Lurker

Cargo were distributing it, but the label's finding it tough
to follow up initial stock shifting. I doubt Cargo have
anything left, so as far as I know the only option's through
the label at the moment. By all means have a crack at
ordering, you might be lucky.

Alternatively you could send me a cheque if you want (please
contact me via my site if you do) and I'll ask Repeat to
send you whichever format you'd like.

Ooh, this is horribly off topic. Sorry!

Points: 734 Status: Regular

Yeah, sorry for the off topicness off this, but seriously
guys Ochres stuff on the Onepointone comp is so good I
really needed to find out more, I'll sort something out via
the site, cheers.

its funny

always for reviews of this site I thought that claro was a
mediocre album... kind of boring... not as good as qtio

well, I love qtio and I never got this one cos I thought it
was mediocre as I had made that idea from reviews...

well I am listening to claro now... and its grreat (ala
anus_)

really, incredible album.... hoping to see what he does next
(he/them... whatever)

lots of free downloads, but it seems to be down now. Keep
that in mind for future, though. Live stuff + one whole
album is there.
