is beginning to suck. I think its less about the members
and more about the complete lack of new IDM material

my personal favourite is Winter in the Belly of a Snake...
but you can't go wrong with "Higgins...", or "Music for
Cats"... really the vast majority of his output is
outstanding...

but seriously folks:
Prefuse gave us one of the finest hip hop instrumental
albums of all time... and then dropped a wicked ep on top of
it...

we got beautiful and challenging ambient from Leafcutter
John, Tim Hecker, So (oval side project), Polmo Polpo,
Yasume, Dub Tractor, and Kopernik

Jan Jelinek, and Gescom were sweet as fuck... as they always
are

Kevin Drumm, and Hecker put out insane noise albums

Autechre did some pretty cool stuff texture-wise

Mu-Ziq's album is easily one of his finest

mad drillnbass styles from Emotional Joystick, and Venetian
Snares (see 7": "badminton park" as well as the split 7" he
did with Phantomsmasher)... and i haven't even finished
digesting all the other sickness from Zod. and
Addictrecords...

and there's more to come (mark my words)

here we go again... every several months one comes with the
great discovery: "this MB is not as it used to be" "the
thread quality is falling down" "there are more trolls than
ever"....

dont believe this.
the MB is just as it has always been.

and by the way... I think it is the best MB in the whole
internet

for a guy like me who moved to canada and suddenly had no
life (not that i really had much of one before, i s'pose.
just different), this board was a godsend. great people with
similar interests, who've inspired me to make music again
(and someday it'll even be good, too!). i'm rather comfy
here. can't see me goin' anywhere any time soon.

i really need to fuckin' get out more...

If anything the board has got more chilled and friendly
recently making it a much better place to drop in on and
have a chat. It got really intense a while ago, I would say
it is as good at the moment as it has ever been in the past.
