Norah Jones

I can imagine the management playing Norah Jones at one of
those chi chi brunch joints that charge fifteen dollars for
a plate of scrambled eggs.

My ex has got into Norah Jones recently. The very epitomy of
whiney female artists that I despise :/

That said re: the sort of place to play it- she recently
played "the gallery" in Liverpool for £3.

Don't talk to me about Norah Jones. My g/f plays that fuckin
yuppie album ALL the time. Her only redeeming feature is her
pretty face and her pretty name.

You'd think Ravi Shankah's daughter would make something a
tad more challenging.

Tssk and you claim she's a leftist...

It's the very definition of middle class soft rock tripe
that you get on friends etc.

I didn't know she was Ravi Shankah's daughter.

I have her album and I like it, but I'm almost never in the
right mood to listen to it.

I still prefer her sister's stuff though :P

This bint is crap. Man her music is just so... so fucking
nothing. There is nothing going on. She just plays a few
chords and wails over the top of them. Fuck that I say. I
could do it myself and find it a lot more entertaining.

It's best listened to late at night, when it's raining and
you're feeling a bit sad.

Yes, it's so empty- I keep on thinking someone has done some
really good filtering work and removed half the sounds. It
makes SAW 2 sound "busy" in terms of stuff going on ;)

im glad the pat metheny group got yet another grammy. and
it was nice to see that something bill frilsell had to do
with won so many grammies (with norah)

and let's not get into the 15$ scrambled eggs. at the
restauarant where i worked earlier this eyar, we had an
omelette for 16, and we also had a rib steak at 47.

don't diss these things because of how much they cost.
different priorities. i remember when i was a lad in
labrador, i used to make fun of chi chi restaurants, deeming
them "grand."

if i were to see a scene in a movie where people were eating
at a chichi resto, i would say to my sister: "Eee, luh a
dem, by, dey thinks der right grand, eh?" but now, i am a
part of that grand culture.

Indeed, some people would say paying £100 for a record was
extreme, but there are at least 20 memebrs here who wouldn't
bat an eyelid at doing that.

I think the point he was making was knocking "trendy" places
rather than good cuisine :)

Tolstoyed:
Just 11 videos, but they're so good!

I like norah jones' music. Some variation on that album
couldn't hurt, but still... they're pretty songs, sung
beautifully.

Haven't heard 100th window yet, but i like special cases

i think she has a good voice and her songs sound real nice
to listen to. i dont think she is worth all those grammys
but not because her music is bad because of all the hype it
brings.. but i think if you give it a chance her music is
real nice to listen to compared to most of the pop thats out
there, im def for her music

I would just like to add

I made the mistake of getting the Norah on CD for my woman

We were sitting on the couch reading and listening to it
trying to have a relaxing evening

big mistake

made me feel like I was trapped in a coffee shop surrounded
by people wearing clothes from the Gap KILL I MUST KILL

made me want to explode

I cannot over-emphasize just how ANGRY that music makes me
