no problem....

it's elusives FTP sever BTW so he's the guy to offer props
to for letting me upload all that stuff...

Also uploading a load of other stuff at moment...pretty
common AFX live stuff but nice to have in one place for all
you non-ss users....

Jand: Where did you get these files?

Reason I'm asking is, the naming convention used there is
EXACTLY like what all my personal MP3 archives are...

Not that I mind, I just have the feeling someone I gave
these to might have leaked them onto SS or elsewhere,
because the naming convention is too coincidental to be,
well, a coincodence :)

Of course, I'm only referring to the old stuff - I don't
really deal in MP3s anymore ;)

Cheers

I really doubt someone leaked em...I've had the vast
majority of them well before SS was even thought of...seem
pretty standard names to me...

This talk of leaking amuses me no end....why the f*** hoard
live stuff?...no-one loses if you share stuff...

That's what community is about, isn't it?....

I'm currently uploading a full 1 hr set from the Japan 97
gig....

Think it's about 55 meg rather than the 34 that seems more
common....

40% more AFX....:)...

Can I have a sainthood now?...:)...

I hate having a really fast connection here at work.
Possibly even faster than Jand's!!! They've put so many
restrictions on so I can't get into the FTP. Grrrrrrrrr.
Anyone know a way I can slip past all these restrictions
like firewalls and whatnot? In fact anyone know a way I can
stop them seeing what I'm looking at. Then they won't know
how much I'm on the internet. Please?

there was no ctd, rdj only play, from his known stuff wl and
remix by afx 2.
all other was rare acid dnb techno electro ambient
sounds...
without losing his personal style, of course...

Re: Leaking, yeah, I can understand if you're mates with an
artist and you have some unreleased tracks they don't want
released/some new pre-release demos etc. if it could harm
the artist's rep. but surely recordings of gigs etc. are
okay?

Only reason I can see is if you have an awful connection,
but just UL it to one person with a better one and let them
share it...

Quoth: I told you mom the same thing :)

Jand - No, I totally agree about sharing live stuff - The
reason I was a bit mystified by the naming was all the old
AFX stuff I got came to me as original cassettes, CDRs, or
on MD - I MP3d them at 128K and named the files as
sourcefiles for joyrex.com's RealAudio files ages ago, and
they had that exact naming convention. I really don't care
that you have them now or are sharing them - I wish I could
do the same via watmm but you know WARP, Rephlex and Richard
would be cross with me if I did so. Richard only allowed me
to make the Sonar show available for download at the time,
as he said the live shows were special to the people that
were there and what was the point of doing (and going to)
live shows if somebody is just going to record it and put it
on the net for everyone to hear. I kinda see his point, but
the fan in me wishes everyone could hear some of the things
I have and have heard.

Cheers nonetheless for the Primavera show though - nice
stuff!

no problem, joy...I understand your position...

I must admit rdj & the labels have been fine with me
regarding audio and/or live videos...obviously when they, or
any of my other contacts, say "pls don't spread" then I keep
things to myself but that's pretty rare really...

for instance, I had a very early copy of the GG video but
didn't share that around as I felt it really needed to be
seen on DVD...MPG or whatever ain't up to jobs like that and
I respected Alexs work too much to present in any way that
wasn't 100% how he wanted...

It did make me chuckle when Grant mailed me about that
Rephlex Radio show I encoded...no hassles, he just wanted a
copy for himself...:)...

Its all about respect at the end of the day really....

ho hum....I still wish I'd recorded all the early 90s AFX
gigs I went to....back when he actually played live...

Glad you liked the Primaverasound show BTW...def one of the
best sets I've heard from him....
