i've determined are shit. respect others, but remember
you're no more righteous than any of the other folks.

SUCKAHEAD!

opinions often create conflict because they're so varied.
that is something people have to respect, but often fail to
do so. influence is an attempted product through contrast of
those opinions.

in addition...

this is a music forum.

music is a very personal and emotional thing.

when some one says something about music that goes against
what you beleive, it can be very insulting, because in a
way, they are insulting your emotions etc

just something to think about

TUNEMX - i've spotted a thread for you to close -- it's this
one right here -- totally pointless.

why does it feel like there has been a witch hunt for topics
lately.

its the hottest topic.

is this thread good... is this thread bad?

let the moderators decide, thats what they're here for

i think hevquip mistook the MB for a place where opinions
aren't welcome -- how can you post to a MB and say that
opinions are shit?

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-06-19 18:38 [#00275228]

i think what he meant to say...

is that in the end an opinion is just an opinion, and people
should get all hot and bothered by them

we have huge debates on things, that goes on and on, and
people get mad, but its an opinion, and it wont be changed

especially when what he said was a goddam opinion - is he
exercising his irony muscle today?

well if he learnt to state things more lucidly, then
misunderstanding wouldn't occur and pointless arguments
about nothing would be less prone to arise

Difference of oppinion make this message board great. What
sucks is when people get abusive.

BE NICE

I think everyone else is wrong, and I'm right. Only my
opinion could possibly be the right one. Why would I think
something if I thought it was WRONG?

But I like hearing other people's opinions. If only to LAUGH
AT THEIR STUPIDITY!!! AHAHAHAHA!!!

No really, I love opinions and friendly arguing and
everything. I listen to everyone.

*pssst, but only I can be right.

it's acceptable to disagree, but it's not acceptable to say
"you're wrong". opinions have the same value as one another.

hey i know what, hev - why don't you enlighten your
president about this "respecting other people's opinions" --
mind you, be anonymous or they might plant some coke on you
and fuck you up

offline hevquip from megagram dusk sect (United States) on 2002-06-19 19:17 [#00275307]
Points: 3377 Status: Regular

i dont really care about what the president does as long as
i can keep living my life the way i want and without america
being completely fucked over. i'm only going to care once
there's an impact upon myself.

if that's true, then that undermines everything you've said
in this thread -- or are you having a laugh since america is
regarded as very inward looking and selfish and egocentric
as a nation?

The trouble with communicating via text is that things
always look more severe than they actually are...

Debates can get heated but thats good...I don't like it when
things get too bitchy altho I'm as guilty as the next poster
I guess...

but overall, I reckon we all get on really well...

respect due to you all...it's a great tight little cru we've
got going on here...

that's very true, jand, altho i've never seen you being
unusually bitchy :)

i know my sense of irony and humour can fail to be
appreciated via text until people have known me for a while

i agree, that we have a tight community here

I think smileys can be helpful, because without them, people
would take things too seriously. Can't get tones of sarcasm
and playful prodding across well over text.

Right, you stupid cunts? ;-)

Everybody's got'em.

i didnt mean that YOU should "learn to accept other
opinions"

i was saying that that was what his messege was.

offline jand from Braintree (United Kingdom) on 2002-06-19 20:25 [#00275422]

yeah, I hate smileys as well...it's like putting your hand
in the air when you tell a joke...

but they do help get around the limitations of the medium
but it doesn't suit people with very dry or sarcastic senses
of humour...

but hell, it's nice getting to know people this way, despite
the limitations...
