what do you people have to say about this label? apart from gescom and a little bola, i know practically nothing about it and its artists. how's alder & elius? wevie stonder? team doyobi? freeform? etc... thanks. |

It is not autechre's label. The guy running skam is not even a musician/ artist as far as I know. |

Skam is a Manchester (M/cr) based label founded by Autechre's ex-flatmate Andy Maddocks ("Madsocks"). Andy is part of Gescom, just like Bola, Rob Hall and a whole mess of others are as well. the two Jega records are super good and you should get those if you can find em. Alder & Elius seem kinda shit to me. Wevie Stonder is cool and has some musical talent. Team Doyobi from what i've heard fits into that sorta generic IDM thing which IMO is not really that good of a thing. the Freeform 12" is maybe the best Freeform record i've heard, but i can't say to much for the rest of his output that i know of. Posthuman seems pretty dope-ass. he has an album out on some other label right now and i've heard good things. Marco Passarani is on there to, he's pretty dope. |

skam is lush. really. they haven't got that many artists, but what they release is mostly top-notch stuff. team doyobi is brilliantly crunchy, and a heavy beat oriented ae-clone (which in THIS case is a good thing), bola is da shiznitza with his warm, organic synths, as is freeform, passarani and some of the SMAK releases. SKAM is coo', bro'. |

thanks for the info, i appreciate it ;) and after listening to their full album, i agree with you that alder & elius sound kind of crap... the music's got too much of a "retro" feel (80s) for me. dont know why. |
