Check on e-bay. Boards of Canada's extremely rare Twoism LP
is currently valued at nearly $300! And a caption at the
side says, 'Buy this now for $600'. Is this for real!?

Erm, I'm not sure I know how to. Is this what you do?
www.ebay.com. Anyway, the album is currently valued at $360,
and the caption reads 'Buy this item now for $695. This is
unreal!

i´m not familiar with e-bay so why does it say 360$ and you
can buy it for 690$??? don´t get that ...

offline Krendo from Leicester (United Kingdom) on 2002-05-03 14:29 [#00204509]

Well, ebay is an online auction site, and the bidding goes
on for an item until the deadline is reached; however, you
can at any time buy certain items by paying enormous prices
for them, thus circumventing the tedious bidding system that
is used.

phobiazero, what is this album like? Do you have Hi Scores
as well, because it is there on ebay and I was thinking of
getting it.

Anyway, somebody must have just paid through the nose,
because the Twoism LP is not auctioned there now, and
neither is Hi Scores. Perhaps I shouldn't have drawn
people's attention to it, because I was just about to buy
the fucking thing. Tssk.

It's not hard to find mp3s of Twoism, Hi Scores and BOC
Maxima. Good look with the older stuff!

Hi Scores should be available for a reasonable price .. try
www.realgroovy.co.nz before shelling out a lot of cash on hi
scores (tho i'm sure its available at other online stores)

spasm69; check ot www.discogs.com
search for Boards of Canada, and you will get their whole
discography. Twoism is easy to find on mp3

I think Twoism and Maxima are quite ok, but far from their
last stuff.

yeah, that's crazy... just wait, it'll be re-released in a
year or so I bet...

offline mortsto-x from Trondheim/Bodø (Norway) on 2002-05-03 15:09 [#00204552]
Points: 8062 Status: Lurker

I don't know. I mean, BOC is making fantastic music now, so
why sould the re-release old, not-so-good stuff?

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-05-03 15:13 [#00204557]
Points: 16280 Status: Lurker

I don't know, but I bet they will... warp re-released Hi
Scores didn't they, so I'm sure Twoism will probably be
re-released... but who knows, maybe not...

How does it sound??? Hard to say - I can't describe it very
well. I'd say most people who like MHTRTC would like those
three albums.

Hi Scores is my favorite release by BoC...

I think it was Skam that re-released it ... in a limited
edition of like 3000 copies. [nelson]ha ha![/nelson]

offline mortsto-x from Trondheim/Bodø (Norway) on 2002-05-03 15:17 [#00204563]

It was Skam. But what about that "limited ed" of Geogaddi
with the special cover? It's still on warpmart, and in the
stores. Limited my ass!

I just went and got myself Autechre's 'Anvil Vapre' EP and
Aphex Twin's 'Quoth' EP. I don't know what they're like, as
I've only heard Quoth on the Sine Waves album. Are they any
good?

offline Krendo from Leicester (United Kingdom) on 2002-05-03 15:19 [#00204567]

Er, I got them on ebay; that was the connection with this
thread...

Anvil Vapre is good, and if you like old AFX, I guess you
will like Quoth too. Not my favourite, though...

Meets Bucket on Quoth is brilliant too. You got yerself some
nice stuff there!

and zod01 with Venetian Snares from Warpmart.
Got kewl Plaid and APC stickers.

Twoism is probably BOC's best EP, very sombre and
melancholic, and loaded with their signature SH-101 synth
mastery.

You'll get to hear clips of it and more BoC soon on
watmm.com

phob, mortsto, yous are crazy. i wouldn't pay more than $30
USD, escept maybe as an investment if i planned on selling
it later. I got the album on CDR, and it's awesome.

Those guys know that their records are selling for 700 quid
on eBay, so maybe they'll realize that re-releasing them
means more $ for them and happier fans.

yeah, there is definately a demand for those old albums, so
why not release them again... most people have them anyways
in MP3 form, so why not release them again and try and make
some money from it?

they were made when boc was not a duo, i suspect heel
dragging by ex-members.
