The following get the most play at the moment:
Pagan Sector - The Corpse Fell Into The Hourglass Summer Of Haze - Young God Screamfeeder - Snail Trail Lilys - Hark, The Open Energy Channel Is Icy Water, Water Everywhere
I'm not sure on the best. Maybe 101 Rainbows.

Seems to be Windows only. I'm on Mac, using a player called Colibri that's like the old lightweight Winamp before it got bloatus.

VLC is the best for video, I'd use it for music too except Colibri does that one cool thing where you double click on a file and it opens in Colibri but also queues the rest of the files in that folder. Handy for us local filesystem album havers.

It may be worth considering https://www.foobar2000.org/mac and https://youtu.be/5um6NEMZGZo?t=562
Any tracks added to your music folder will automatically be available. You can list by album cover, genre, or type the artist etc in.
