RDJ is the second mozart, like i said, the apple amadeus,
the most productivity and creativity electronic producer of
the world. he's the alpha, nobody can beat him.

Yesterday I listened to the whole Richard D. James album
once again from A till Z on my discman before sleeping and I
have to admit it once again absolutely blowed me away! It's
so great, it's the ultimate perfection. I totally agree with
you map! Richard D. James album is absolute top!

His complex prouction on some of the tracks on Druqks is
very impressive!!!!
How does he have the energy to do all those details?

if u analyze Ziggomatic v17 you will get sick...he got like
a million of details inside that track. The tracks drums
must have taken months to program. The beat changes every
second, the programming, effects is just sick on that track.
Ziggomatic has as much details as other artists whole
albums. Yeah How da fuck does he have the energy to do all
those details even tho he doesnt have another job!!??!I
never heard anything like it..Luke Vibert said it takes
Aphex like months to only creat one beat...I understand
why.

could be as ambitious as him when it comes to music.

Not to fight with anyone her but does obsession with detail
and a lot of time devoted to technical issues guarantee good
art/ music? nope.

drukqs is getting better day by day but i dont think its his
best album... i cant say one album is better than another...
i like/hate so many songs from all of them .

i agree archrival
the programming is wicked. plus i really like the new
flavor represented with the piano tracks. avril 14th is
such a pure track; so simple and beautiful.
not sure if i can say drukqs is the best as ICBYD was my
gateway drug for afx so to speak and will always have that
nostalgia for me.
but drukqs is deffinately right up there

aphex has evolved - as his wealth grew, so did his
software/hardware &tc... from making his own analogue synths
to making an entire album on his laptop (RDJ album
allegedly) the attention to detail is just a natural
progression - if i had all that money and equipment, the
production on my music would be a lot more detailed and
complex. i have noticed it even as my software has improved,
i am able to better fulfil my own vision.

tons of micro-detail automatically means it's great...

it sounds pretty fucking great to me!!!!

What are you on about?
It all comes down to personal taste.
If you don't like complex tracks why do you bash others for
doing so?
How old are you meho?

Of cource loading a track with
tons of micro-detail doesen't automatically means it's
great...

no,no, you are asuming that i'm asuming that you are

Just kidding, but I do think that a lot of drukqs is just a
demonstration of his obsessive editing/mixing method but not
all that great actually, in a deeper sense

If you like it, then fine.
If you don't like it, then fine.

Everyone has different taste and different ideas of what
constitutes "good music". Personally I like drukqs, but I
can see how some people might not care for it.

To quote Thom Yorke, "it's all fuckin noise anyway".

I think in cases such as SAW2 "less is more" .
what about "Rhubarb", that track is amazing and it's only
runnin synths, and then theres "Blur", probably one of the
darkest tracks I've ever heard,
To me it's also about the sounds I don't hear,

clear out some misconceptions...

i dont liek drukqs as much as the RDJ album.

drukqs, to me, seems liek hes gone all out on detail but
there only seems to be three types of tracks on the CD
piano
drill ones
and the weird piano/hat ones (track one etc)
and a different one ever so often

but hey i m not sayin it sucks, im just stating my opinion
on it :)

they are not that bad. But I'm going home in ten minutes so
am not ready to discuss it extensively. They are just
"readings" of afx music and have some new perspectives out
of which some are banal and some are really great.

hmmm like I was into just details hmmm NOT. Im into melodies
and dope beats, im just so dam impressed by AFXs SKILLS. I
mostly into hip hop tho and do u call that detailed
production (one break one sample)??? I produce my delf (all
styles) and I can tell u AFX made some pretty impressive
stuff on that album fo sho.

"if i had all that money and equipment, the
production on my music would be a lot more detailed and
complex" COME ON that WAS JUST SO FUNNY LOL

drukqs' tracks are too similar, i agree,
but when you listen to it without even thinking it's afx or
nothing else, you hear a deepness and a will to express
emotions strongly enough to say it's not a show-off IMO
