I'm thrilled to announce my brand new label!
Listen to the first song Dyssomnia on Soundcloud, Youtube and Last.fm
An all-embracing and precise review about the entire release is to be found here.
Whilst you are listening to the first song, you might as well want to take some time to read what 2ism Recordings is about and what we have to offer.
In today's music scene, it is very hard for a label and artists to stand out of the crowd. With today's tools everyone with a computer can create music. In the past decades, this has caused a whirlwind of new artists in the already crowded and ever growing (electronic) music-industry.
So, where do we come in and why do we stand out? It's all in the name 2ism, as in two-ism. This should be taken very literally given everything we do, is done in pairs: the music is created by 2 artists and so is the artwork.
The collaboration between 2 artists makes it very special; how will the collaboration turn out? Can the style of each artist still be recognized? Did they blend into a new musical entity? All these factors form a thrilling journey!
This label strategy triggers artists to think outside of their own comfort zone. Define a vision for the combined work, identify each other's strengths and ultimately rely on those strengths and each other's capacity to create something fresh and original. It entices to create a whole instead of a collection of songs.
The first release is the work of Roy Hessels who is living in Utrecht, The Netherlands and Benign (Pieter Van Bochaute) living in Brussels, Belgium.

great idea, several musicians working together...
you could extend it to more musicians, make them play every one an instrument and call them a band, thatd be really innovative...
or join like 20 or more of them and find an epic name for it,
like orchestra or something...
;)

hahaha justkidding...
it may not be the most imaginative idea, but artwork, musics and website is great. lets see if we can get that outstanding new music, but im afraid thats not a matter of number of people involved but about individual talent and imagination... keep us updated, aesthetics!

Hi aesthetics, great job! Keep me informed, will there be a physical release? I agree with epic, somehow your website reminds me of boc. good luck with your label, what's your party in it?

Thanks -crazone! Next Friday the physical copy will be up for ordering @ only $3.-
What do you mean with my party? My part or my share? My part is that I did the design and my brother did the website programming. He also created a very user friendly and layman controllable CMS (easy to maintain website module).
There is no share as the label is non-profit. All profit will be used for promotion / hosting. Anything left will be shared with the artists.
I can imagine that the website has a BoCish touch.. I mean, the name itself and me being a huge fan of their work surely result as an influence in my design.
@Epic - no sue whatsoever. I approached mdg(BoCs spokes person) if this label idea would conflict in any way.
