id say four tet has always been good, nice melodies and beats and ideas, but he couldnt avoid his repetitive til boredoom spirit, until he found his perfect style (his actual minimal) based on repetition. hes a good happy man now for me, who has never been so good as people credited him, is u-ziq. maybe i catched him too late, but i found most of his albums somehow uninspired. i only enjoyed that übercomplex album on his own label, i think it was his last one... its like hes got mad skills but never really put it in clear interesting ideas/tunes |
