my wife questioned by secret service

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2003-08-21 05:47 [#00830931]
Points: 24589 Status: Lurker

my wife was taken in for questioning by the US Secret
Service yesterday, in relation to the news article I
mentioned last week (or was it the week before). It seems
that the Radio Station who pulled the stunt (on both the
Army Base AND on my wife and her friends) are trying to use
her as the scapegoat, and now the Army Base is ALSO trying
to use her as a scapegoat. This really sucks bad -
apparently it's the top news story - I'm gonna scout the net
to see if I can find more info. They wanted my name and
address too. . . motherfuckers

Americans on the board -- do you know a place or phone
number where my wife can get advice? Like a Citizen's Advice
Bureau. THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE MY WIFE, INNOCENT, THE
SCAPE GOAT

Being as it's America she can just sue their ass! Man it
fuckin sucks that she's being made the scapegoat though.
Maybe it could aid your move to America though? Wife in
trouble and you need to be there for her. Then when it all
calms down you'll be resident in the country already and
it'll be much easier to be allowed to stay. Well in an ideal
world anyway.

I'll briefly recap -- Bush was visiting AZ... my wife's
friend was asked by the radio station to go the Army Base
and interview him and take pictures. They were assured they
would get press credentials and permission. Both Lies. So,
they got on the camp, and finally it was noticed they had no
credentials, and they were escorted from the premises. Now,
the Radio Station, KRQ, is trying to pin the blame on my
wife and her friend.

Looks pretty obvious that it's all just a big mess, I mean,
it's not like she had a big fucking gun or anything !

Kafka was a writer - his famous novel, The Trial, concerns a
man who is arrested one morning for no reason, and put on
trial.

I have emailed the two Arizonan Senators, the Arizonan
Governor, the President, and the Vice President.

I don' t know the entire story, but do you not think that
your wife is a little somewhat responsible for her
actions....afterall she isnt a reporter, and OK she was 'set
up'.....but I'm sure she was aware of a certain degree of
risk in this matter. Security is taken considerably serious
as of late, you can't blame them for taking such actions can
you?

She is 20 years old. She was given a camera and told to go
take some photographs. When she got to the Air Force Base,
she was given a Press Pass. She is entirely blameless.

The radio station lied to them. The Air Force Base fucked up
by issueing them Passes.

I must admit though, that if someone gave me a camera and
said "Go and take some photographs at the Air Force Base"
I'd be a bit sceptical.

But good luck anyway

Her friend works for the raidio station - it was him they
instructed to interview the President, saying they would
pick up press credentials at the Air Force Base. It's easy
to dismantle things in retrospect, Chris.

Other Chris - I told my wife to sue the radio station out of
existence. I'm not a fan of litigation, but in this case it
is justified. She is scared SHITLESS of what might happen to
her.

Too fucking right. When there's a good reason behind it then
it's all good. Fuck it, if you're doing it for the principle
just give any money away or whatever.

the best course of legal action would simply be to aquire
the council of a lawyer, readily found in any phone book.

Call one, and ask for free consultation to get this sorted
out, then, the idea to sue the radio station, and that is
where the lawyer will get his cut.

She gets out of trouble, and the lawyer will rip the radio
station a new one. Defemation of name, lawless intent,
they'll fucking make up words to make it seem awful.

I'll let it be said here and now, I am 100% against lawsuits
like this, though I always chuckle when radio stations pull
shit like this and get fucked.

I have a question Paul. How did the radio station allow
your wife to do this. Surely they have their own reporters?
If I was the boss of the radio station, I might think that
this was nothing to do with us....she isn't an employee.
I'm just thinking from the other side of matters. I totally
support you both, don't think for one moment that I
don't.....I'm just curious.

Jedi Chris - her friend IS employed by the radio station -
it isn't CNN-radio you know, it's just a local rock radio
station. Her friend was sent along to 'do the interview' and
she went along to take photographs for them.

Thanks for the support - I'll pass on the details of those
two organisations to my wife - I haven't heard back from her
yet.
