sorry for the caps, but people need to see this (as I doubt major media will cover this... its not on CNN yet) The Pentagon and the World Bank have both released statements, saying that the current rate of global warming is more a threat then terrorism. i find it really hard to believe that we'd see those kind of effects that soon... not because i don't trust scientists who talk about global warming, but because i can't believe that if the threat is so clearly eminent now, why wasn't it so clear that this was brought to our attention when the whole kyoto accord was such a big deal? if there is reasoning that you are aware of, please share it with me... i'm interested in the truth, and if i'm wrong about this, i'd like to hear it |

most people (thanks to their media sources + politicians) have misplaced/misinformed concepts of what is or isnt a threat. i reckon a lot of people are more worried about terrorism than the effects of pollution. look at the facts + iits fairly apparent which is more likely to kill you. we seem to love in a culture of fear. and that fear is nurtured and directed to the benefit of others.. and to society's detriment. |

The Pentagon 'report' is in fact a theory paper. Many of these worst case scenario papers are drafted, dealing with all manner of possible calamities. |
