do you believe in God?

If i was the god, everything would be better. and at the
moment everything is a bit poo. there cant be no god coz
everything isnt equal and right all the time, you would
think that if there were a god, he might keep everything in
order, and not let such things as holocausts happen.

You can't. But how can you be sure there's not an Easter

Indeed, for these things you need belief. Some things are
demonstrable, others not. More often than not we have to
take other peoples word for it.

seriously? is it possible to tune your perceptions of
things/ideas/concepts on that basis? see i cant do that-like
i know for example that tabloid papers are the least
reliable source of information, yet whilst knowing this
(from past legal cases in which it has been proven that
information given to the public was incorrect/misleading) i
still get taken in from time to time.

but I am tired of catholism
I dont like how the church haves all that money instead of
sharing it with the 3rd world for example

Very true Nacmat. There is a gaping divide between what is
practiced and preached. It is strange that people continue
the way they do. You would have thought they would have
become suspicious.

Most churches that I have been in (and there aren't that
many..) seem so elaboratly decorated....but surely that is
not needed to worship ones god? Better the money be spent on
the poor and homeless - I agree!

I find religion very, very hypocritical!

i cant stand organised religion. its so unorganised. the
bible (and i have read it) is a sham, the only good thing i
can see in religion is that it offers people comfort.

as bill hicks once said in stand up-

'i dont care what you believe but you gotta admit that
beliefs are strange-y'know? i mean, if jesus ever did come
back to this earth, do you think he ever wants to see a
fuckin cross round anyones neck?'

Those nutty evangelical groups scare me. I worked with a guy
who was in one and he was odd. They prey on the weak and
troubled.

To worship the cross they nailed him to - I don't think so
either.

Jonesy: Those evangelical types are a disgrace, they are
nothing more than con artists, who sponge money for their
own drug addictions probably!! It is so wrong!

I see people, especially old people, and thats having a go
at old people...who go to church say everyday to pray, and I
think, why do they do this? They go to these places and rest
their faith in the hands of an existance, that they have
absolutely no shred of evidence that it exists. None
whatsoever!

They believe that they are being watched over, and are
comforted by that thought, but I cannot for the life of me
se how anyone could do that! The Bible teaches a way of
life, a suggested way of doing things, but who's to say that
it wasn't written by some kid years ago...and passed down
generation to generation.

all make mistakes, and ive nothing agaisnt preists who
whilst making a living from their faith also offer comfort
to others-but evangelists are just fucking conning cunts.

There should be laws against it! And I know this is a
terrible thing to say, but there seems nowadays a lot of
priests who get 'locked' up for doing stuff to kids....you
hear of it all the time! And it is so, so shocking! Do these
people as religous people really think they are going to a
so-called heaven after doing such depraived acts.....it's a
sorry state of affairs..

Bill hicks reverted to being a Baptist a couple of days
before he died.

Oh, and I disagree with the Catholic church and not just
because of what it does, but because of what it teaches.

I remember Bill Hicks got accosted by these three
"Christians" after a gig who said, "We liked your show, but
drop the stuff about Jesus okay?" he said "If you're
Christians, forgive me. And for fucks sake, stop wearing
those crosses -when he comes back that'll be the last thing
he wants to see!" :)

He grew up in a very religious family which is probably what
put him off it. I mean, Marilyn Manson grew up in a strictly
religious family and went to a Catholic school.

I reckon that if I ever have kids, I wouldn't take them to
church, I'd let them choose to go when they're old enough.
If you try to ram anything down people's throats, you just
piss them off.

I don't beleive in god or that the bible is a "holy"
book...but there's no doubt that the spirituality some
people have inside them is 100% real, no matter what
religion they believe in.... For me, just walking around in
the nature, having a look at the blue sky while listening to
some music make me feel "something" that touches me deeply,
i can't really explain it, but i almost get high on it...
I think religions are the product of people trying to put
this spirituality in a more logic context.

But i'm still convinced that there is a superior and
invisible force that watch us but it has nothing to do with
God as human see it.
Human has perverted religion's message.

Yes, because the Universe is full of mathematical
regularity, its balanced since the big bang, an exemple of
this is trying to put a pencil in a table in the vertical
for the same time as the age of the universe thats how
perfectly balance it is. It aint caothic therefore since
only beings are capable of doing mathematics there must
exist a god and we´re his dream.

I dont believe in god has in the bible or nothing like that,
mine is philosophical, why it is so regular so perfect? Its
so perfect that we apply rules to the universe and nature
why it works that way and the other day not, sure that can
be explain by physics now but in the criation it dint exist
nothing besides vacuom if it didnt exist nothing it should
continuem like that.

I find it funny how people who say they have never, or
hardly ever have been to church can say that religions are
hypocritical... how do you know? Do a bit of research before
you make your claims... I also find it funny how you can say
that people need religion because they can't make the
decisions themselves... well, if you knew anything about
Christianity then you'd know that it is all about OUR
decisions... everything about it is about OUR decisions...
sure we have things laid down about "Thou shalt not..." but
how is that any different from the laws we have in our
societies? The laws are written down, but we stull choose
whether to follow the law or not... people don't become a
christian and have there whole life planned out
immediately... the reason the world is the way it is is
because people have made their own decisions... Christians
believe that God is there to help, but they also believe
that you need to ask him to help you... it's clearly stated
in the bible that we were given a choice of whether or not
to be Christians... We could've been forced, but we weren't
according to the bible...

and yes, I do get offended... I get offended when people
with little or no facts about God, and the bible, and
christianity bash the damn religion and bash me for
believing in God and all this stuff... like why am I laughed
at for believing in God? I should laugh at atheists and
Buddhists, etc, because they don't believe in God... Oh,
just look at their crazy ideas, and beliefs... they're
different from mine, so I guess I had better make fun of
them... maybe I'm taking this way too personally, and
probably misinterpreting what some people are saying, but I
have encountered a lot of ridicule in my time for my
beliefs, and I think THAT is ridiculous... people make fun
of religion, and say "Oh, he's a hypocrite" and yeah, you're
a real holy person aren't you? Making fun of other peoples
beliefs... I'm not aiming this at anyone, it's just my
feelings... I don't judge people because of their beliefs, s
