oh, now people are saying i'm dumb because i mentioned how
it could have been made on fruity loops.

what really is the deal here?.. why could it not have been
made on fruity loops?..

gx-1 solo is a fucking mess, the melody has no emotion, its
fucking just random midi notes. how is this enjoyable?

some people are far too easy to please.. and you know what,
maybe thats a good thing...

'mappatazee' 'dave_g', i have brilliant news for you. -
fire up kvraudio.com, browse for authentic analogue synths,
download, install, open favourite sequencer, insert random
midi effect - set sequencer loop for 60 minute (or however
many minutes you want), render track, sell, make profit, and
finally, have a 60 minute long track of pure random notes -
easy as that.

'pure random notes'

yes i'm sure this is the exact process that was used to make
this track.

I was rude about this record before I'd heard it.

I was a toss.

Now I've heard it and I will buy it.

This is The Tuss.

It's really good. It sounds like Analord, but,
crucially, it's a big impovement.

I like The Tuss. If it's RDJ, I say, well done Dicky, I like
it. If it's Staz, I would say, well done Staz, I like it. If
it's anyone else I'd say, well done, it sounds a bit like
Analord but you've pushed the formula forward enough to be
interesting.

GX1 Solo isn't all that bad either.

Its sounds like he is actually changing the parameters
really easily while the
cartridges are plugged in!
Just stick up a list of all the parameters against numbers
by your gx1
Then just adjust each one as required with a screwdriver.
If you select patch 10 on each of the synths then the
cartridges at the
front can be reached easily ,after awhile you learn the
numbers easily
like pwm is number 14 etc
Then you are programming the presets directly and do not
need the tone
board or the programmer,decent.

You can feed any of the drum instruments to trigger the solo
synth!
E.g every time the kick drum sounds or the Hihat etc the
solo synth can
be triggered which actually gives you untold pattern
possibilities if
you combine the drum pattern selectors.

Then you can either manually play the key you want with it
being
triggered in sync.
Or just let it trigger automatically.
Also the same drum instrument pattern is fed into a s/h
which in turn
can randomly select the pitch of the solo synth and the cut
off
frequency of both filters, with varying amounts ,sliders for
each.
Instant acid and from the 70`s!
if only keith emerson has used it this way!
Instead of that fanfare for the common prick stuff.
Dance music history would have been completely different
**smile**

[Gordon Reid says that the drum machine is crap, this is
understandable
for someone from his era [sorry Gordon] but let me tell you
this is
probably on e of the best analogue drum machines ever, the
cymbal is so
sexy and the snare can actually be very realistic for an
analogue
machine,I love it
The kick is huge especially through the valve amps.]

You can also feed this s/h output into the lower and upper
synths
simultaneously and set it to control randomly and in sync
with the solo
synth trigger and drum machine, pitch deviation, loudness and
filter
cutoffs
So that's 6 filters it can be chaing at once.

The question now is

Is The Tuss better than AFX? Have they rendered all RDJ's
past work obsolete? Was the Analord 11x12"(+picture disc(+CD
comp)) just some bloated, idle folly compared to the sleek
economy of the one Tuss 12" (+CD with one different track
(why no Cassingle???)).

Are the rumors to be believed that Rich, now a father and
past his rave days, has handed over the mantle of Aphex, his
equipment and knowhow to a younger unknown (possibly Staz)
to carry on the work of Soit-PP?

Wrong. The real is question is this: will exsub ever reach a
state of maturity where he is finally able to grow a full

Actually, having played all four tracks through a number of

i reckon its richard. though one day it could be revealed
that it really isn't richard. either way, i really enjoy
this ep. the cd that is.

fredugolon 6 i enjoy. the beat is awesome. reminds me of
vibert, tho more sophisticated? most parts of song are
wickked.
while alspacka doesnt go all that very far (as someone ..
criticized earlier), its still good tune with some enjoyable
synths and melodies.
and then theres gx-1 solo which i also like, with the
constant acidy synths and melody on top.

the ep is all round enjoyable and while i always enjoyed it,
it is growing. whether or not this is richard has become
irrelevant to the music (though does change how i think of
his output.. WHICH would be a fine reason for a change in
alias).

aand then theres akunk.. which reminds me of silly ceephax
(city collars, shoulderpad) tho more.. serious? and less
enjoyable. dunno whether or not to laugh or feel sorry for
the afx perfectionists who are buying both cd and vinyl just
because of the richard rumours.

I've listened a bit more and I've become forgiving again,
Fredugolon 6 is good in a twisty, sinuous way. Yes Rephrsh,
I will part with my hard earned. And I came to a brand new
theory that will launch Arguing The Tuss into a new
breathtaking dimension.

The Tuss is a collective of phaceless boffins much like
Universal Indicator.

Fredugolon 6 - Fred u go olon (Fred you go alone (Phred -
Mike Dredd + APhex))
Alspacka - All Spaca (All by Spac Hand Luke?)
GX1 Solo - I'm just going to say Cylob
Akunk - A Cunt (Grant WC)
