how old were you at the first time you listened to aphex
twin or any other idm?

for me, i watched come to daddy a few times before, but the
first time i decided to look for more music from that beardy
freak i was 15.

I heard On on MTV once around '93-'94 and remember being
fascinated by it even though i didn't know who he was. I
started buying his releases after watching Come to Daddy,
when I was about 16.

his music?

donkey balls.... that turned me right off until i heard
squarepusher blah blah blah eventually got back into aphex

I suppose it was rabbit city 2 (91-92?) age 16, didn't like
it that much. Wish I hadn't written all over it with a big
fat marker pen now.

summer '95 I was 16 and yeah, Further Down the Spiral came
out. same route there. later when i listened to "On", i
remembered having heard it as some of the music on The Real
World Venice or something.

far as electronic in general, that goes as far back as when
i'm like 7 or 8 w/ "Axel F" and the "Miami Vice Theme". i
made my dad buy those tapes, and i made him find the right
mixes too. i didn't want some extended dance version. i
wanted exactly what i heard in the show or movie.

About 8 years ago. I was big into FSOL for a long time
before that and it seemed like the next logical step.
Initially starting with the more obvious tracks like
Windowlicker and quickly progressing through his back
catalogue. My home intenet connection had just been
installed so I would listen to pretty much everything I
could find.
