what happened to theo himself

Remember him? He'd come in claiming to be God's gift to fat
beatz then ask what compression was and misunderstand the
answer.

Anyway where is he? Is he famous?

That's funny. There have been and still are xilty posters
laboring under a far greater burden of self delusion and
cognitive dissonance. Anyone who can only be as fucked as
theo without imploding is a Big Pussy.

pretty much anyone who makes 'tracks' and then spams them
here. my stories are pretty crappy, too. basically xltronic
is the most condensed spot in the intrawebs for the
delusional and consequently bitter. i'm shocked at the low
level of reported suicides.

I liked his ambition, not only was he going to release the
greatest album of beatz ever, but it was going to be a
double album, as well.

His best was asking me to hassle a mate at a big record
label (he was quite snotty, until he heard which one)
into getting his stuff heard, when he hadn't actually made
any available to hear. When I pointed this out, he told me
to email him and he just maybe might be able to send some to

me.

Yes, of course. I'll jump through hoops to do an
uncooperative stranger, whose music I've never heard, a big

favour.

Man, don't call his writing shit just like that. It's better
that somebody writes or makes music or sculpts a wanky
shapeless mess than not do those things. It's only a problem
if they become an arrogant prick about what they do (which I
think is a bit illogical anyway, because one person's cake
is another's vow vomit, and all that...)

While the way I made my point was fairly gormless, I still
think doing something creative, whether it is shit or not,
is healthy and shouldn't ever be discouraged.

I strongly suspect he hadn't made any fat beatz to show
anyone, though he'd be willing to make some if Sony was
listening. First, though, another joint to loosen up and get
creative.

I want to disagree but I can't summon up an argument to back
up that stance. I don't agree that doing something "even if
it's rubbish" is worthwhile.

I think, like presidents, we should elect every 3 years
representatives of each area of the Arts, be it music,
painting, literature etc, and only those ELECTED people can
practice those arts. Everyone else will be outlawed from
doing so, a criminal act. This is my vision.

I don't care if people make crap music, as long as it isn't
hyped up and shoved down your throat to an absurd degree.
The worse instance I can remember was Moby licensing all of
his shitty, bland, elevator music version of trip-hop to a
million different adverts (I think around 99/00?) and
everybody having to hear this goddawful new-age muzak sludge
every time they turned on a TV or a radio.

I say, good for moby, and turn off the fucking television if
you don't like it.

He could buy six of you, grind one of them into hamburger
and feed them to the other five, and still have money left
over to tile his bathroom with rolexes.

He likes to image himself as some kind of modern 'hippy',
while whoring his music to faceless corporations and their
cynical attempts to coerce a wider range of the general
public to part with their money and transfer it to the bank
accounts of rich businessmen (while they pay the majority of
their workforce pitiful wages).

In trying to wind up swears I have apparently forgotten the
Pavlovian response of most ziltypeople to Moby - the
Frothing, the Rolling Back of the Eyes, the Involuntary
Stabbing Motions.

I dunno, the guy's just not on my radar. And I don't see
what's wrong with someone getting rich off even the worst
music imaginable, even if they think they're buddhist
vegetarian hippies. Kevin Federline got offered 15 million
dollars as a divorce settlement. How did he come to be in
such a position? He cheated on Britney Spears by fucking a
porn starlet. And even then I can't manage to work up much
of a lather. Meh.

It's like, everyone is so focused on the celebrity puppet
show they forget that it's all put there as a distraction.
If you want to get mad at someone, find out who the largest
shareholders and boards of directors are for the worst
corporations, and get mad at them.
