seeing picture of 3 people from 240 angels describes it
better, but not everyone's got a 2gb space on their cam.

jackie o'moteherfucker does fun stuff when he plays
records..that's when he plays solo and not with the full
band.

the night started slowly, some beers some joints some
distorted guitar with perfect melodies. then some minimal
techno stuff. pretty fine. then venetian snares.
holy shit. only the presence of this man deserves going to
see him playing. a monster over his machine, a viking god
throwing his thunders to our ears. under red light, and with
the cables of his mixing machine as a projection of his hair
and beard. amazing. musically, all you can expect by him,
amen destruction, trash, and abstract progression. amazingly
unbearable...
its incredible how close are mr.funk and autechre...
at 2:30 i run to the main scene where the duo were preparing
his performance. there was an strange silence on the crowd,
the sound of expectation. autechre in total darkness, like
if they want to give all the protagonism only to the sound.
then they begun. ive never heard a bigger bass in my fucking
life, there was nothing else than that bass kick, taking
life from the inside of me, shaking my body and returning to
the guys. my explanation sucks. pity. but after a while the
bass was too much for me and i decided to go sitting in a
lateral of the room. from there everything was better, i
could hear more clearly the mid frequencies and everything
began to flow better. from there i could even see the too
guys and the whole crowd. then i could perfectly see the
sound, in constant evolution and transformation, moving from
ae to the people's bodies and from time to time coming to me
literally moving the wall where i had my back with his
bass.
autechre was exaclty what i expected (something abstract and
cerebral), but even that way they succeded at impress me. ae
music is from other world, or just from the inside of earth.
is fucking nature in all his forms in transformation. is
pure life.
slowly, the regular kick and opressive bass leave space to
the melody and more drill drums, ending with an LP5 sounding
(but with his later structure) part which i enjoyed the
most. i didnt recognized a fuckin track, not even a single
sound.

great and coherent night. but i think i hadnt been able to
stand another session like that. too much. we decided to
leave when ellen allien, after djing lfo's freak, began a
dense and noisy session of hard techno. my head was still
producing music when i entered into my bed.

offline melack from barcielwave on 2006-12-02 10:15 [#02011173]

other facts:
-no pics were taken by me
-i didnt met cuntychuch
-there was a man with a microphone next to me recording ae
session.
-after 4:00 people who is still dancing are all on hard
drugs

Don't bother trying to please people at xlt cos you'll
alllllways do it wrong! :D

I know exactly what you mean though about that kind of bass.
I didn't feel it so much at ae but when I went to this drum
'n' bass night, it was so heavy it felt as if my chest was
going to cave in and crush my lungs; i could barely breathe.
The hairs on my arms were on end and everything was
vibrating. It was almost too much to deal with for 5 hours
on end, but it felt amazing.

oh, it was nice also literally hitting against mr. funk
later in the night. surprisingly he came from the ae show
(it has just began) an went to the second scene where two
guys were playing hard acid stuff...

i skimmed through it, sounds like fun. I like snares live,
people get a bit spasticated in my experience.

Im just listening to ae recording from detroit 05, there is
some guy shouting about finding a tampon which is pretty
funny. did you say anything that might have been recorded?

hehe yeah it is indeed an strangely amazing feeling... i
loved when autechre spent some time with no bass and playing
with mid frequencies and suddenly the bass appeared stronger
than ever. powerful!

I LOVE snares live. I saw him with Shitmat and scotch egg.
(I have pictures, if anybody wants them). They were all
soooooo good. It took me a while to get into VSnares but I
was never obsessed with him. Then I saw him live and it was
just amazing. Loved it. Shitmat was really good too. There
was this scary stalker dude following him round everywhere
though.

Yeah it is really something when there's no bass and you can
just feel it building up to it, and then it drops. mm

an embarrasingly bad show 8 or 9 times

Hahah yeah it was hilarious how much he fucked his last show
up :D you'd have loved it. It's just fun watching some guy,
possibly with ADHD acting like he's on a WWF show or
something.

oh sorry, i didnt recieve your message, cunty... maybe you
have a wrong number, join me on msn and ill give you the
correct one...

tolst: obviously autechre were thousand of times better, i
was just trying to express the thing that both artist are
beyond rithm, creating a solid sound mass that moves by
itself... or something like that... honestly i dont like the
snares, and i will hardly ever listen to n album by him, but
in his live performance the sound and his presence hit me.
