well, i know some people will hate it, but i just opened this topic to express my deep love for that album. :D an amazing collection of excellent tunes. every track is a whole world in itself, totally different from the others, but as incredible as the rest. a bit of everything, now i understand the title... (btw, dont plotinus sounds like autechre using dnb samples?)

vacuum garden is the soundtrack of 2001 a space odyssey. admit it, somehow it - the track- makes sense. it's squarepusher doing a kubrickian lapdance

yay! falito* > last track is an amazing ambient tune!
cygnus > not mellow at all, just a bit of everything, of every caracteristic sp style... not so noisy or abstract as ultravisitor or go plastic, but more a "controlled" style, without the aesthetical shouting... a bit like the analord spirit, but in the pusher universe...
vacuum garden is nice while stoned, and i fucking love how it flows until the sixth track...

This album is pink
The cover tells us that Tom can play lots of different instruments
With its happy major chords, level 42 bass lines, d&b midi drum patterns and exuberant arpeggio's this the work of a happy muso that is reacting to the idea that he has taken himself musically too seriously.... Technically he has a lot of skills on display here - but the production and the delivery is not at a level of previous works in my view - this is more new order 1989 than -->[] innovation -
It is fun - very regressive though - very pink shirt and a beard

not to start the discussion if squarepusher deserves the fuss or not, but, as you know already, people will start to fuss over some artist whether he deserves it or not. shit happens. i'd rather talk about the genius of the KLF all the time, but it's not up to me to complain about it. ...and make posts about the KLF in squarepusher threads.
and yes, being on the right label helps....although...the KLF contradicts that rule
