BODY RIDDLE

Ok, this is it, im so happy right now. I got the chance to
hear Clarks new album Body Riddle and what can I say...
Im quite chocked at the moment and havent been excited like
this since I first heard Roygbiv back in 98.

You can really hear how much time he put in this work, its
astonishing! the sublte details on this album are second to
none this year.
Im so impressed by the way the work of Body Riddle is done,
its such a fresh album and really is something else. I must
say that I find it hard that their will
be a better album by anyone this year and I dont buy a lot
of albums these days but I will certainly go out and cop
this one!!!

You can hear that he put his soul and heart into this album
(as he did with his others also), but I was a bit worried
after I heard Throttle Furniture wich I also really like
but I wanted more emotional music like Herr Bar on the full
album and not dancey tunes like the other ones. What the
album have is fantastic material in the same vein
as Herr Bar, an album cant get more emotional than
this..what about the epic final track!!!! :O the album is
short, sweet and tasty :D

You can feel and hear how much effort he layed on this one,
you feel the frustration, the anger, the passion and the
sadness all over it...its such a beauty that you cant
describe with words, you have to hear it by yourself, do
yourself a favour and order the album NOW!!!!!!!! You wont
be dissapointed.

Album of the year, hands down.

Nice stuff. I'm really looking forward to this album.
Haven't heard it, and I guess I'm gonna stay away from SLSK
and just preorder it from Warp so I can check my mailbox
like an excited little kid.

i enjoyed throttle riddle more, the sound seems more
compatible with what he did with the tracks there.

yay its all about taste, but for all those who like Herr Bar
the most from the EP..I think they will love this one..its
such a strong and melancholic album.

I'm with Staz. The EP was a lot better. The albums isn't
terrible by any means. In fact it's quite good but I had my
hopes up for something more from the strength of the EP.

its all about taste and I respect that but yeah if u like
the other tracks on the EP, the more dancey dnb and frau wav
stuff then you will be dissapointed, but if u like more hip
hop style beats a la Herr Bar then u are in for a ride :D

i just want harsh beats and not that ambient tracks all
idmish artist like to put in their albums and that finally
are only filler tracks...beats, destruction, dead and love!

things up rightly.

the production on the album is incredible, beats or no. the
way sounds interact with one another is also something i
havent heard any other idm artist do properly (or any artist
do, really). the mixture of field recorded sounds and
synthesis. it's short, to the point, nothing is too
lengthy.

i normally don't care for ambience mixed with "beat heavy"
music, but here it works perfectly. instead it's just part
of the whole, and very seamless.

it's a unique and heavy record. absolutely one of my
favorites of this year, if not my overall favorite.

hopefully it's "non-wicked beats! man i want wicked beats
for 6 minutes straight god damnit i am so pissed argfh idm
drill n bass" status does not work against it.

"archie. youre always entusiasthic" hehe yeah it seems like,
but if the haters (not you :)) really think about it, they
will realise that im only jumping on the dick (hyping like
theres no tomorrow) of a artist who really really deserves
it, and like I said imo Clark MADE IT!!! well fuck it,
"Disasemble" described what I tried to describe in a much
better way so read his post :D im not that good at english
:/

anyway read what Clark himself said, interesting stuff (from
milkfactory)

Many journalists have struggled to adequately describe your
music over the years. It seems something that you are
reticent to do as well. If you were forced to describe it
what would you say?
Heheh , Forced how? Like now in an email or something a bit
more sinister? I think it’s a good thing that people
struggle to find descriptive terms and lingo. With the new
LP I suspect this may be even more apparent. Hopefully the
time I have spent honing the new material has paid off and
will demonstrate this with total precision (that last
sentence sounds quite amusing if you read it to yourself in
a German accent). It doesn’t sit easily as a genre piece
of any kind. That’s why I will never be as commercially
ubiquitous as say Mylo (is that a good example? I dunno) but
also hopefully shows why my conviction in music is
deep-rooted, and is, clearly to anyone who knows me good and
proper, a life long pursuit. Even a lifetime is nothing, a
blip in terms of the musical landscape you can explore.
I’m sorry to make life awkward with my reticence. I guess
a central thing in a lot of the new tracks on the LP is that
feeling of “what is it? I don’t know what this is?” It
definitely isn’t techno, hip-hop, IDM, drum and bass,
classical, death metal, electro, acoustic. But elements of
all of these “fashions” must somehow permeate my work. I
feel it is just not up to me to tell you how and in which
way they do, and in which way the listener should interpret
any hidden meanings that may be buried beneath the surface
fabric of the music. In a sense

offline Archrival on 2006-08-31 13:58 [#01962947]

this relative absence of my “writer’s intention” is
totally undeliberate… It’s not like I even know myself
what my music says and this is how I want it.

Rather than explore one sentiment go between the spaces;
consider the contradictions. For instance on completion of
one track for the LP I was so chuffed I pegged around
Birmingham on my bike for ages... partly shit scared that I
would die before handing my LP in, whilst also laughing my
head off, grinning maniacally and simultaneously weeping for
joy. It must have looked a right sight. Quite what this is
supposed to say about the human soul I really don't know.

Well said Clark, im feeling it (whatever it is)! :D

i didn't like 'empty the bones of you' and have ignored this
guy since. but since everyone is creaming about this, i put
in 'empty the bones...' again tonight. i still don't like
it. therefore, i am reluctant to bother with 'body riddle.'
i'll probably just steal it like everything else and give
