XLT VIBES #21 | Squarepusher Remixes

YO!

You know, I thought we could remix mr. Tom Pusher's tracks.
What's that!? You hate his music? Remix it into
something decent, then, you cunt. It would be nice to hear
some non-jungle takes on Go Plastic tracks, for example.
Maybe some 90bpm low-rider groovers, y'know. Or perhaps a
re-construction of the MIRON tracks? Amens + BBC stock
samples on top of Selection Sixteen? You choose! Seriously!

Naturally there's no confirmation on "official" status yet,
but I'll bug Phobia about it and we'll see.

Maybe, can you post samples? I'l try it if you do.

Anything you think could be used as a sliced break, stab,
etc. I don't have any mp3's so I can't do it now.

Reconstruct? Amen samples are everywhere online, and he uses
those a lot, along with the Think break. As for the
melodies/synths, these are remixes, so your own
interpretations are key. You don't really need much of the
raw material. If you want to build something similar, try
and sequence/track it similarly.

Also, don't post your mp3s here. Send them to
noises@gmail.com, either as links or attachments. Notify me
in this topic as well, so that I know you've at least
attempted a send.

The tracks should be a SUPER SURPRISE!

If anyone wants to mix this, shout it out in here.

Everytime when I see a thread/vibes like this I really like
to contribute a remix but I don't have a clue where to
start.
Let's see if I can get something ready this time.

count me in yo (however i don't know if i'm good enough)

any suggestions on how to reconstruct some of his beats? i
just got phatmatik pro yesterday and managed to rebuild the
same beat as heard in that old school ninjatune Scratch Yer
Head remix... guess that's still kind of beginnerish
though...

what kind of filters and beat enhancement do you suggest?

also, i tried to get the think break from that Lyn Collins
track, and there were three parts in the song suitable for
sampling, all three however have some vocal stuff to them
(i.e. like the beginning of Come on My Selector). is there
also a clean version?

cycles? always gives me shudders...

too bad i don't have a main-plug converter for the sq10, so

choice is obvious

I love the idea. It's quite a long while I'm into mr.
Pusher's stuff and i like it very much, indeed, but I'm
quite a noob in practical musicmaking yet, so I'll see,
guess it's kinda time to whip myself up..
