Concerning E3

It's tomorrow, I'm really glad I'm not working right now.
Really looking forward to seeing Mario Wii (WII? LOL) and
especially Metal Gear Solid 4. Outer Heaven is back and
whatnot and soforth. I'm also crossing my fingers for news
on a Mother 3 release over here.

(BTW the Mother 3 soundtrack has dominated my listening the
last couple days, so splendid, way better than any other
music discussed here but not quite on par with Mother 2...
it's more straightforward... still a melodic joy but the
overall sound isn't as distinctive)

Electronic Entertainment Expo, the largest expo all
about videogames and consoles, held yearly in Los Angeles.

new games are announced, some are shown for the first time..
this year you have the Wii thing, maybe some PS3 action.

it's mildly interesting if you're into videogames - it's
largely a competition between the major companies to show
how much money they dare to blow away on it.

'wii' has got to be the gayest name for a console, ever.

I'm hoping there will be some neato DS titles that will make
me buy the system. I'm almost sold on brain age and animal
crossing but I need to know some cool games are also in the
works before I get a DS. Plus I want to wait for DS Lite to
come out in North America. Its only going to be
$120-something US, and the canadian dollar is awesome (80
something us cents)

Oh and I want to see what the new Alliance race is in WoW.
They better announce that shit. I'm hoping the expansion
will have more gameplay variation. I never had the incentive
to hit level 60 because after all the hours (no.. days) I
would need to invest isn't worth it since you're just doing
the same killing/looting/selling shit that you do at level
one. Granted, you do get to get into groups with voice chat
and that can be fun. Has anyone seen Onyxia Wipe?

probably the worst thing about the "Wii"-change is that it's
so very obviously thought up by a marketing department, more
than normal, I mean.

It's very ungood. When I go to the store to pick up my Wii,
I'm not going to ask for a ''Wee'', I'm going to ask for the
''Nintendo Double-You Eye Eye''. Some of the
marketing/advertising for it looks to be cringe-worthy, too.
That Goth kid with spiky hair playing Wii to demonstrate
that even super-kewl kids play Wii... Nintendo sure is
providing the internets with a lot of fertile Photoshop
Ops.

I hope Mario Wii really fucks up my shit so I can stop
worrying about the name and focus on the inn0vayshun.

It feels like Christmas Eve. I heard the first 90 seconds of
the trailer, the music is gnarly and exotic.

This Assassin's Creed game caught my eye, immediately made
me think of Thief. And since Thief 4 is probably just a pipe
dream, maybe this can fill the void in my life. I love
medieval stealth and Ubi knows stealth.

I can't wait to hear what the next big bubble is. At least
there's nothing comparable to "Emotion Engine" being
pandered this time around. Gamespot and IGN are so gonna be
sucking everybody's cock, non-partisan. Journalists
shouldn't be given access to places like this because they
turn into kids in the sandbox. Wee.

The Wii doesnt exsist to me. I dont really believe in
nintendo anymore.

I am looking specifically for PS3 articles and games and
perhaps some 360.

I just watched the PS3 press conference. Holy mackerel they
hire some dangerously uncharismatic people. Even the guys
demonstrating the games totally sucked. One guy playing some
action game couldn't figure out how to hit an enemy he was
fighting... even though he was one of the guys WORKING ON
THE GAME.

The lineup of games looked OK. Tekken, a bunch of action
games, Final Fantasy XIII (Final Fantasy XII isn't even out
yet), Resistance... standard issue launch stuff. Nothing
surprising, just good-looking action fare, standard
launch/first-gen stuff.

They redeemed themselves at the end when they showed Metal
Gear Solid 4, that gave me chills. Seeing Raiden again was a
''holy shit WTFOMG?'' moment. Still no gameplay though,
they're just teasing by hinting at story elements and
characters right now. Maybe they'll show something else
tomorrow at Konami's press conference.

Oh and they're not using that dildo-boomerang controller
anymore. In fact, it looks like they pussed out and caved in
to the whining... and they're just going with an improved
Dual Shock. It has an Xbox 360-esque guide button, the top
shoulder buttons are analog now, it's wireless, etc. People
bitched and complained, and they got what they wanted, I
guess.

I thought the dildorang looked really comfortable. I'm kind
of disapointed. I'm not just saying that because I wanted to
pleasure myself with it, either. It looked like it would
feel nice to hold.

Well i guess that comes down to the old "if its not broke
dont fix it" shtick.

I wasnt too sure about the boomerang. I didnt really form an
opinion. I got so distracted by the wii controler and
nintendos stupid antics. heh i guess that is good for
nintendo.

I have expectations for PS3 and if i hear nothing useful
through E3 i am going to be a touch let down. Metal Gear 4
is gonna kick maximus

Isnt the PS3 gonna have 7-8 controller ports? I cant say if
i remember correctly. I notice on that controller that it
has 1-4

Dunno why that controller only has 4 lights. Some sort of
mock-up, the PS3 definitely has way more ports than that.

RE: Wii (lol)- You honestly don't even want to try that new
controller? Or Mario and Zelda Wii? I'm jaded and Nintendo
frustrates mii, but you know those games are going to be
masterful. I dunno about their third party support, though.
It's a $299 system, I don't want to buy it just for first
party Nintendo games. But I will anyway because I'm a
loser.

Here's a decent quality clip of the 1st MGS4 E3 clip, note the
end of it. Note the entire thing, really, it's beyond
divine. I wonder who fucked up Raiden's shit, and what the
fuck is wrong with Snake, and why the fuck stuff happens.

ok so Sony have copied Nintendo and annouced that their
controller too is motion sensitive.

So quick to copy that they say the controller wont even have
force feedback as this interferes with the gyroscopes they
shoved in at the last minute.

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6149586.html

Although it hasn't been officially announced, some websites
are saying the nintendo Wii controller has a speaker in it
to play sound effects like gunshots, ball hitting a racket
etc sounds cool innit!!

Me too. I can't wait to see how the Nintendo games play and
look.
I heard a new Mario will be there!A little over 3.5 hours
until their conference.

Sony didn't really show many playable games, and the
conference was a little boring. It surprized me they put
tilting into the controller. Metal Gear looked insane
though. I wonder what the actual game will look like.

I'm glad there's no boomerangutan to distract from the
established PS experience. I'm just waiting for the japanese
to really kick in with their second-gen rpgs and action
games, since launch titles tend to reflect quite poorly on
the machine...

...Which is exactly the opposite case for Nintendo, at least
when a Zelda or a Mario is prepped up for launch. I can't
wait for new Mario, that much is true.

The ''shell controller'' for the Wii Virtual Console, it's
curvaceous like the SNES controller... not sure how you play
N64 games with this though.

It's designed for playing the Virtual Console, which is what
you use to download/play the older games. NES, SNES, N64,
etc. You couldn't use the remote-thing to play the old
stuff, so they needed something like this. You could
probably use it to play some Wii games, too, but generally
they'll be designed around the Wii-mote.

for N64, I reckon they use the right analogue stick to
emulate the c-buttons, and the rest as in the original.
Don't know where Z-trigger would be, though, unless there's
one behind it. Maybe it's like R2 this time. Anyway, pretty
neat.

I was thinking the same thing, extra stick= C-buttons. After
all, they were originally supposed to be camera buttons. But
I can't imagine that being comfortable... in reality, the C
buttons were almost used as face/action buttons. Using an
analogue stick to carry out those functions... that would
just be unplayable for many games. Whatever, I'm sure I'm
just missing something.
