Personally i dont think you need any guidelines or extra policies or anything like that. I think the moderation staff usually does a good job here and we handle things effectively for the most part. There are going to be situations where members get either aggravated or irritated with each other. It comes and goes. I think the board has run good because there isnt a strict dictatorship. Its pretty lax and i think that makes the members feel more comfortable here (which is an important quality) |

word! more defined guidelines will just make people complain about the guidelines, leading to someone getting banned leading to someone complaining about the bannage of the banned leading to stricter guidelines leading to complaining leading to banning, bla bla.. leaving it up to each moderator is better, and the moderation crew right now is a bunch of reasonably reasonable people.. not particularly prone to over-reacting, nor ready to let stuff slide (deleting singular posts with porn pictures, not banning the drunkard who posted it, for example). however, things shouldn't get out of hand as they have with "ze tridenti issue" (or if someone ONLY posts porn) where a person can't post in a thread without someone dissecting his post and just bitching about it even though it could be a valid post; all should be in good fun, and whenever I make a joke (about tridenti or anyone else for that matter) I don't really mean to flame or whatever, I'm just joking around. |

Its not that the image of nudity is condemned. Its that phobia doesnt want this to be a porn site. All things in moderation. |

Oh dear... Thing is though, people know what they are going to be banned for and often people get too many warnings and get away with too much. It's a messageboard to discuss electronic music and other stuff on the side...it's a nice community but when people, especially people who all use the same room in soulseek and MSN, bring stupidity to the board it's not fair on the majority of people who just come here for a good time. As for the gay porn...it's the internet, if people want gay porn they will go to a gay site (maybe watmm.com) and not a music board. |
