Someone using it? Is it better than I.E. Explorer and
Netscape? Please, write here your considerations.

I'm using it, and yes: it is better than IE and
Netscape. That's not only an opinion either, it's an
objective fact.

make sure you get the proper extensions

(btw: I just fucking used the tags for navigating quickly,
and it's great!)

using Firefox too.
it's good and better than IE
at work we've had some problems with Firefox, when switching
a flash with a video inside from normal size to bigger so
that it covered part of an iframe. The part of video
directly over iframe lagged, so the iframe had to be
switched off and back on by javascript. The video didn't lag
in IE and Opera.

I'm a firefox fan. I'd recommend it. That said, be careful
with extensions. They can turn it into a memory hog and
cause it to crash.

Extensions are a tainted gift. I need to work through mine
again to see which is causing the problems. Probably the
fact I have so damn many. Some of them are things which
should be built into the core though.

I tested out opera on my Pc the other day. Loads pages a lot
quicker than firefox.

i do like it, windows should be so flexible to personalize
with extension like stuff
these nerds propagating it piss me off however
also when upgrading you can looe bookmarks (i now use the
backup plugin for that, as well as those searchplugins)

i'm on os x and using it. it's my favourite browser so far.
only a few sites/plug-ins don't work, then i have to use
either safari (which has become incredibly slow to load, and
then loads for no reason and for ages all the time... i had
to force-quit it all the time... don't know why it does that
now but it's barely usable anymore) or internet explorer
(which i stopped using months/years ago, too many bugs - i
just miss being able to go through a page by entering part
of its title, that was great...).

extensions are very nice too.

(the message conveyed by this post is that firefox is my
favourite, but every browser has its bugs and downsides.)

I'm currently using both FF 1.5 and IE 7 (beta 2).... the
beta is quite similiar to FF... but i like the
user-interface in IE7 a lot more compared to FF. IE7 renders
CSS a lot faster than IE6, but generally still tends to do
it even faster, althought we should not forget it's still a
beta with a lot of bugs.

however, if you're using IE6 today, Firefox is an better
option.

according to xltronic's statistics covering a week back:

1. Firefox 53,01%
2. Internet Explorer 32,50%
3. Safari 7,38%
4. Opera 5,17%
5. Mozilla 0,93%
6. Netscape 0,49%
7. Camino 0,45%
8. Mozilla Compatible Agent 0,03%
9. Konqueror 3 0,02%

however, only 50% of all Firefox-users are having the latest
version, so please upgrade.... it's recommended to switch
from FF 1.0 to FF 1.5.

you can upgrade your old firefox from here:

if you haven't you might need to get this one to
turbocharge safari.

I used Firefox for half a year (before I fixed the safari
thing), but I wasn't all that excited about it to be honest.
But compared to IE its the best thing in the world.

Vlari set me up with that safari fix thing a while ago, and
it helped but it's still not that fast so I switched back.

I'm the 0.45% using Camino. I tried Firefox but I'm happy
with Camino now I've worked out how to make it the default
browser (actually I cant remember how I did it). Its simple
and fast, it doesnt play windows media but it offers to open
them in WMP so thats fine. Firefox seemed like the same
thing but bulkier

I'm finding IE7b2 faster than FF right now.

Opera kicks Firefox's ass. Fast, small memory
footprint, secure, already has most of the practical
functionality that Firefox gets through extensions...

giginger: it depends on what website you're checking...
sometimes IE7 is faster to render a specific website, and
sometimes FF is the winner... it looks like FF seems to
handle/render the JS/CSS-combination a bit faster.

oh well, it's still early beta - but one thing is for sure,
IE7 will screw up a few websites using IE-hacks.... so
redesign/check is needed. i've seen sites which renders
correctly in IE6/FF but is a mess in IE7. more work for the
web-developers....

Check LAZY_TITLE site in FF, then IE6, then IE7. Good
use of conditional commenting.

My site looks fucked in IE.

yeah, can't wait for beta3... since we're in the middle of
developing xltv2, it'd be kinda interesting to know whether
a few css bugs will be solved with the final release
candidate OR if we have to use conditions to serve a
corrected style sheet for each browser.

i'm prepared for the worst tho ;-)

i was kinda surprised ClearType was enabled by default in
IE7, and it took a while before I got used to it, but now
websites looks so much prettier with ClearType on... w00t!

you'd be an idiot to still use IE..

don't know about the security of the new IE beta that phobs
is going on about, but it still can't be very trustworthy.

it's NOT recommended to install the new IE7 Beta 2. although
it's publically available, it's only recommended for web
developers.

but I bet the final IE7 will take back a lot of FF users.

Standalone IE7. It's what I use. Works a treat and saves
me fucking up my computer.
