mostly a podcast means an mp3.

however, you can also subscribe to a podcast, if it's a
regular thing (like a weekly radioshow, for example). you
can then us a program that keeps track of which podcasts you
subscribe to and when a new podcast pops up, it
automatically downloads the mp3 for you.

this is what the RSS-link is for (subscribing).

for example, you can use Juice.

I probably only get half of how interesting/handy this whole
podcast thing is, but there you go.
