thought i'd post for those who hadn't

Warner don't completely obliterate Aronofsky and his team's
style

there isn't a date yet...Aronofsky is still finishing
effects shots and sound at the moment....should hopefully be
out soon though

i hope it will join my fav films list, as Pi and Requiem
did.

damn my broken comp, i cant watch this.

im a huge aronofsky fan tho, pi ranks in my top 5 fave films
of all time. requiem is up there too, but imhotep pi is
nearly the pinnacle of highly stylized film, everything from
the soundtrack to the story to the actual look of the film
fits beautifully together.

i totally agree

i really wish i could have seen these films on the big
screen....not sure if either Pi or Requiem For A Dream got a
cinema showing over here in the UK, but i'm hoping that The
Fountain will definitely show at our local cinema

having said that, they didn't show DOOM...but i kinda see
why now :p

I saw a pretty godawful piece of shit that Aronofsky
co-wrote.. about a haunted WWII submarine or something. So
I have lower expectations nowadays, compared to right after
he did Pi/Requiem.
Hopefully Clint Mansell will do the music for this one
though, although he did sell his excellent Requiem for a
Dream score for use in a few other much shittier movies, and
for some rap song I think.

Q4Z2X

yes Clint is doing the music, apparently he's in the process
of finalizing things right now. of course im only going by
what i've read in interviews.

I kind of agree, but he's a good stylist, can't deny that.
However, if he again attaches the camera to the main
character with a rack facing his head, so that it moves
along with the actor's movements, he's dead for me.

re jeunet.. delicatessan left me feeling cold, but amelie
was so lurvley you'd have to have some kind of heart of
steel not to be even slightly touched by some of the scenes.
actually maybe i just like girl amelie too much

actually the whole cycle is frighteningly boring. you should
watch them in special set designs with sculptures made by
Matthew Barney, because Cremaster was not meant as a film at
all, but as a sculpture. there are no plans to publish them
on DVD which is a very good artistic strategy :)

i don't think fincher is superficial film maker, fight club
deals with the practical implications of adopting nihilism
and coming of age into a materialistic world, i'd take it
with a pinch of salt but it does have a lot of ideas and
touches on a lot of interesting things for a mainstream
hollywood movie. Even alien3 was originally to have a much
more spiritual onus and had scenes that touched on the
concept of madness in society and what that means, golic was
meant to be the hero/antihero of it. Fincher can be a bit
flashy but i think he's provoking.

hey people

dunno if anyone else has already posted this, but there's a
full length trailer available now

here

looks like the release date will be around October/November

means we in the UK probably wont see it until 2007 :(

i actually like the fact that he's using the same crew and
actors

it's kind of like music in that respect

using the same "instruments" to get different "sounds"

just because i used my 909 in one track, does that mean i
should never ever use it again for any other track i make?

anyway i'm biased - i like his films so i'm bound to say
something like this

Unlike Ingmar Bergman movies....
