Ed Hanley's solo alias.
Atypic / Tura is Andy Turner, the other Plaid member

I am listening to the two hour long Black Dog live in
Toronto set as we type, and it's very good and I recommend
it and stuff.

no its not a Balil track. its actually "Otaku" by Atypic but
it was very confusingly labeled on the EP so everyone
mislabels it as "Flux". even the Middleton comp got it
wrong.

If this is a serious question, then possibly. All the Black
Dog tracks are on Trainer though, so you decide.

It's quite a good CD though. The kirk degiorgio tracks are
good. From what I remember. It's been a while since I put it
on. Quite a long while in fact.

i think it has some tracks that appeared on trainer. Balil

me? i wouldn't pay anything for it, i've already got it. as
for how much it might be worth, no idea. probably not much.
it's not often a CD is worth much.

The Black Dog, Plaid and Balil all existed at the same time;
TBD was all three of them, Plaid was Handley/Turner
(sometimes just Turner) and Balil was Handley.

Discogs Fs up some of who was who in instances like 'Bytes'.
according to interviews w/ the group at the time:

Ken Downie= Xeper / I.A.O. / Discordian Popes
Andy Turner= Plaid / Atypic
Ed Handley= Close, Up, Over / Balil

from what i've read, that's how the album was divvied up.

although you're probably right, it is made by an entirely
different andy (and yes, SPD is THE ultimate black dog
source...THX!)

@Ezkerraldean: they called it "artistic differences"
how? would you be satisfied if i say "by email"? (<--purely
speculative)

Nuts, I just bought B12-Time Tourist, thinking it was one of
the guys from TBD.

Its still good, though.

What a bizarre notion. "Time Tourist" is an excellent album
so, you know, sometimes it works out good when you're
completely wrong about something.

i think there just came a time when all of them were on each

others nerves and a split was imminent. Ken seems to be a
real idealist so when things did go down, Ed and Andy were
the only ones still talking so they stayed together as
Plaid.

don't know the situation right now but as of like 2001 Ed
and Andy had, had some good email exchanges w/ Ken. I don't

think the original Black Dog will be getting back together
or anything, but they aren't on hateful terms at all. the
split was like over 10 ago now.
