Something I have been meaning to do for a while and finally got around to it. I never got into the flow of Druqks going back and forth between drill and bass, the piano stuff, and various ambient sound stuff. Not that those styles couldn't work together, but imo more effort would need to be put into transitioning them to keep a consistent flow. I just finished making my two playlists, which is almost the entire album minus a few cuts because I wasn't into them or they didn't fit.
Disc 01 - Drill & Bass stuff.
Lornaderek Cock/Ver10 Taking Control Meltphace 6 Mt. Saint Michel Mix+St. Michaels Mount Ziggomatic 17 Afx237 V7 54 Cymru Beats Omgyjya Switch7 Vordhosbn Gwarek2
Disc 2 - piano ambient
Penty Harmomium Father Nanou 2 Strotha Tynhe Beskhu3epnm Ruglen Holon Kesson Dalef Prep Gwarlek 3B Kladfvgbung Micshk Jynweythek Ylow Avril 14th Hy A Scullyas Lyf A Dhagrow Petiatil Cx Htdui
Try out those playlists to see what you think whether you like it better, like the way RDJ intended, or would move stuff around differently.

I like it the way Aphex did it. Creates a good range.
That said, I have my own playlists of the tracks doing something similar.
That said, Lornaderek doesn't feature on any of them and if it did. Not in the Drill & Bass stuff.

I guessed your reasons :)
They're most likely the same ones that Aphex put the track on there himself.

i dont really like the non-drill and bass stuff on there - a bit boring. Lornaderek is funny , and the first track is quite good, but the rest is pointless. Bit 4, why bother with that?!

i kinda agree, kinda. after listening to electronic only stuff for so long it is nice to hear the first track again. alot of the piano stuff, for example, ruglen holon, sounds really nice and mellow and relaxing, espicially for banging noises and such

Ziggomatic 17 is still the mest track on there IMO.
Shame it's the only part of the CD that hasa HUGE scratch.

The track order is the beauty of it. You're ruining the flavour.

funny thing is, when this cd first came out, rolling stone gave it one star, saying it just sounded "phuqed up."
then i read a collection of album reviews at barnes and noble by rolling stone, and in there they gave it four stars, saying it is "mesmerizing."
it's an album people really aren't on the fence about - they either love or hate it. i love it, personally. need to listen to it again actually....

wikipedia 'Richard claimed he had stored the entire new album on an MP3 player, but had lost it on a plane with no backup copies, and that drukqs would be a selection of unreleased tracks instead. This is a plausible hypothesis, as the electronic tracks are strikingly similar in style to previous works.'

The story i heard was that he lost his mp3 player and feared someone would find it on the plane and shove it all on p2p, and that he only did Drukqs to avoid this.
and anyway, are the tracks strikingly similar to previous works?!
maybe one or two of the non-drill and bass ones are vaguely like SAW2.

Thats what I heard too. Only a freakin idiot would degade his tracks to MP3s and throw away the originals... I really doubt RDJ would do that... I was always under the impression that artists keep all their original samples, and write down the methods they used to modulate each piece as well.

Well theres no reason to believe they were mp3s specifically. But personally it sounds like a complete load of wank, for one they don't sound strikingly similar to anything he's done, I think the album has a really strong overall vibe anyway. And yeah I doubt he would only have one copy and then lose it.

sounds like bullshit to me, but one way to disprove it: anybody analysed the tracks? mp3's have a telltale cut off point.
