A group effort

There are a few smokers on this board, I can speak on
behalf of most of us that we don't like the situation we're
in. Each year they add more and more chemicals that become
more and more deadly.

For the first time ever, a friend of mine told me to quit,
but not in a way that I would just brush it off like "yeah
well it's not so easy". It was a genuine concern with a
compassionate voice.

Monday, Oct. 17th. (leik lol boc) I've decided to give it a
try. Who's with me? This is a good time to really get into a
group effort. Something we can discuss as it happens. It's
allot more motivating than just doing it yourself, its more
compelling and competative. Sort of like when we did that
24hour outdoor experiment.

I am an 'on again-off again smoker' it hard to stop smoking,
I gave up for 2 years and started again. It is an addictive
drug and you have to attempt to remove smoking situations
from your life which is the hardest thing.

offline bob from Nottingham (United Kingdom) on 2005-10-14 16:17 [#01750128]

i quit 3 days ago now.

I have given up previously for 3 months and 6 months.
My experience is that once you decide to stop, you can't
have a fag ever again, else you're back at it before you
realise.

Good luck to all who decide to quit! especially me!!

ive tried cold turkey many a time and it hasnt worked for me
(doesnt mean it wont for others tho, i dont mean to
discourage) so ive been doing it gradually. id been down to
2 a day until yesterday when i had a really bad panic attack
and ive just been feeling shitty, and really needed to chain
smoke a bit.

seening how i feel monday, maybe ill give it a whirl with
you guys.

You've got more chance of surviving in a hospital if you're
