well, I think warp is a brilliant label also, they exist
since 1989 not since 2001
and I also thing he was here referring to their service with
warpmart more

of course... yeah I dont forget about all the great music of
the first half of the century

for example, apart from jazz I love some cuban music of the
early 30´s

its a shame you dont like chris clark, cos he is great and
I imagine a great 2006 with releases by him, brothomstates
and squarepusher... and maybe more of course

but those two acts: chris clark and brothomstates I really
have hopes on as the future of warp

...but thats easy to fix - Audacity 1.2.3 can change
speed/pitch on soundfiles to emulate a 33/45 rpm turntable.

4 years.

i'd consider myself quite a fan of mr james, but i just
found out that there are songs on this thing that i haven't
heard before.
music like this reminds me why i am a fan.

He played that one on the Quartfestival '97 too. Oh my, was
I ever in heaven at that show :)

I was hoping that the version of Laughable Butane Bob he did
was going to be included on this reissue since it is far
superior to the original, but alas, it was not so.

Very good list, I like most of them as well!

Vlari: I never heard of that Quartfestival, but yes, I've
just seen that Laughable Butane Bob in the Live has two
minuts more than the one on HAB, that's great because I
really like that track too, thanks.

Tolstoyed: Yes, absolutely you should.

I already had the MP3s of this, but I still went out and
bought the CD. All the little breakcore losers can listen to
this and realise RDJ whupped thier asses with some amazing
cut-up breaks science TEN YEARS ago, and hopefully give up
making awful amen-break tunes.

Does anyone have a CD of this where the last 2 tracks aren't
reversed? I noticed earlier in this topic a mention of the
Arched Maid Via RDJ and Every Day being in the wrong order.
It's quite screwy. Does any have a disc with them in the
correct order? Mine sure aren't. :) I still think the
vinyl sounds better though. I suppose it depends on whose
recording your listening to though. Now they just need to
do a box set of all the vinyl only stuff on CD.

i guess my statement on this release has to do with
remembering my very first vinyl order from Modern Music out
of Baltimore in '96.

i called up PJ one afternoon and made the order. he told me
he didn't have the first Hangable Auto Bulb, but only the
second one, and that both looked exactly alike (which was
wrong) so i said i wanted it and the old R&S copy of
Digeridoo that had the full picture sleeve, and the clear
vinyl Surfing On Sine Waves 2xLP.

when it came i found that he had sent me the first Hangable
Auto Bulb which was just fine with as it was instantly an
alltime classic once i put it on my parents old pioneer
turntable. i pretty much played it to death. later i
happened upon a shop in Colorado called Albums Up (the dance
section of Albums On the Hill) and a really nice record
sales guy named Nate told me he had 5 copies of HAB so i
bought them all regular price. Many AFX fans acrossed the
internet were pissed the fuck off at me on that day, but it
was worth it. over the years i flogged them for different
things, but i kept one extra next to my first one just for
security in case something bad ever happened to the one.

couple years later found a guy in Canada that had a sealed
HAB2. he was working out a deal with someone to buy it for
like $32 or something. told him i'd give him $40 and he sent
it out on the spot.

looking at this CD now, all i can think is that it shouldn't
exist. i'm glad it does and of course i was going to buy it
if it ever did get a release, but it'll always make me think
if my first ever record order. i had a good 9 or 10 years
with the 12"s so i'm happy. and its cool to see a whole new
bunch getting to own these things physically for the first
time.

yeah my track times are switched too. but thats all. none of
the track names are out of order. only the track times for
"Every Day" and "Arched Maid Via RDJ". possible done on
purpose.
