no no, the singer said that in an interview i saw on tv. he said something along the lines of "my voice is just another instrument in the band."

Haven't heard the new one more than a couple times, it's OK but ( ) was great, not a bad track on it. Staralfur is still my favorite Ros joint though, seems untoppable in my mind.
Von is OK, a bit more experimental, though not interesting... one of the tracks reminds me of mid-period Pink Floyd, they've got the Nick Mason ride cymbal going.

Yeah, it's got a Dark Side of the Moon vibe there I think, particularly the fairly frequent screaming. I don't get the comment about it not being interesting though. The mere fact that it is more experimental (that a lot of there subsequent catalogue) makes it an interesting sidestep. It is also interesting to listen to, but needs a bit of work to appreciate.

What about the Microphones- The Glow Part 2?
I'm listening to ( ) for the first time in a couple years and it's really really beautiful. I'm back in college, before dropping out. I'm a winner again.

yar, that too. you hit the nail right on the head, actually. those are the only three albums i'll ever need.
i'm thinking i'll divulge in classical music for a while so that when i eventually come back to newer music it'll all sound as fresh as it once did.

Get Valentin Silvestrov- Requiem for Larissa, I don't even like other music anymore, I only like this.
The Glow is so awesome, The Moon, I Want to be Cold, that's life altering stuff right there.

he doesn't always sing in this made up language. on ágætis byrjun he just sings in plain icelandic but on () it's this hopelandic stuff (von=hope. i don't know why it's called that since i remember von being sung in icelandic too). I haven't heard much from the new album but what i heard was sung in icelandic.
